Sorry kids. But I'm not a big fan of the cute little figures everyone is adding to their signatures.

The first one was unique and interesting, but when everyone jumped on the bandwagon it watered it down a little. Now all it does is add to the load time on my poor little 56K.

I have to agree. The figures are cute but there's a lot to be said for individuality.

It also gets repetitious when you scroll past the same figure 5 or six times on the same page.

The solution

Get a better computer. lol

Seriously, I don't mind them at all realy. They load pretty fast on my computer and everyone else who's computers I've used to look at Lit lately. Besides, some of them are pretty freaking cool. I especialy like Xanders. :)

Well shoot! Guess it's a bit late for me to jump on the band wagon. Damn, once again I'm slow on the uptake.

Precisely

Hey, it's never too late to jump on the bandwagon. lol I've thought of getting one myself for my signature line. Now... if I only knew HOW to do it in the first place. ;)

ABSOLUTELY agree... was cute at first, sort of... but once you've seen it you've seen it - after that all it does is slow down the loading of these pages on the BB... I think we're all more interested in what people have to say than what icon they use.

Suffice it to say...

...I look like Carlos the Jackal. Now I don't need a picture on my signature line!

Would it make a difference if they were moved from the sig line to where Laurel stuck hers?

Angel

I don't know.

And again, this was more of a gentle nudge than a flaming tirade. If it makes you happy, please continue to do it. On a small scale, it's fine. I'm just worried about everyone jumping on the bandwagon. It actually adds more to scrolling time than it does to loading time.

I didn't take it as a flaming tirade...

But everyone needs to read the board, not just me so I prefer to compromise :) Besides I'm making a webpage of the ones I have made for lit so when it goes up, my graphic is coming off my sig line. (Well mainly cuz I'm in the process of making something smaller that I like better hehe I get bored to easily) I think Laurel should keep hers tho.

Angel

It's also hard to argue about yours. It's perfect.
But most of the others just seem to be pictures that have little relevance.

My sarcasm sucks. Really does, I think I'll just quit.

I find pictures in signature lines irritating. Not because they're pictures, but because they're so big. Halve the size of your images and it won't be as irritating. The reason why is they detract from the post. Usurps the words themselves. But oh well.

I'm a bitch and a wet blanket for finding the things irritating and wishing ya'll'd knock it off. They're cute, that's about all they are.

They're too cutsey for me. They overwhelm the posts, like a few of you said.

Same thing with signature lines. There's a point where they become so large that they make the actual post seem insignificant. To me, a good signature line makes a statement, but is short and to the point.

I agree with Dillinger. I'm more interested in the posts themselves than the pix. (Course, that's assuming the post actually says something...) I'd rather make a mark for myself with what I've said rather than the cartoon I choose to represent me.

However, whatever floats your boat. I don't like tongue studs either, but that doesn't mean people shouldn't get them. (Unless you're my child, and then you're dead meat.)

Putting in my two cents again... does that make it 3 cents?

Agreeing with much of what was said above - the pics make the pages load slower, they make the pages bigger and take longer to scroll, and... they're redundant, once you've seen them, you've seen them - after that they just take up space.

At the very least I would petition for much smaller icons... perhaps something less than a 1/4 of the size of the one's currently being used and maybe over on the side bar where there is plenty of empty space next to a post.

But - ultimately, given my druthers, I'd just rather not see them at all.

Just one more cent...

They all look like the same girl anyway, just in a different get up.

They are. I've spent the last 2 hours browsing, and they all look remarkably alike. I've found a few really different ones, but not many. And when people say that they made theirs, did they make them from scratch or from a template? Just changing colors, clothing styles, and hair styles? I think it's more likely that they're done from a template. That being said, I'm thinking of posting a few of the more interesting ones. :D

On a side note, I'm gettin' royally hacked off at whoever keeps trying to hack my computer!

I took mine down, not only was it annoying others but me too. I did notice that the pages were taking a long time to load, and I do get bored easily.

WS, I agree, short and to the point.

So who want's to spank me then Hmmmmmmmm ? :D

Nicole

I'm willing to oblige you and I'm sure if you bare that bottom I could figure out something to use to spank you.

R Nitelight

I agree they are stupid just like 98% of your posts

*Hint, hint*

Posting on his thread is encouraging him...

But I love reading his posts...he's damn good at one-liners...:)
