I just tried internet sex with a webcam for the first time - with some random person I met in a chat room. Im now freaking out that maybe it was somehow recorded and might end up on the net somewhere. This seems both unlikely and yet possible. Am I just being paranoid?

lol i bet you learned your lesson huh?
next time dont be so stupid.

Thanks. That makes me feel heaps better.

Clearly it wasn't the brightest thing to do - though I got the sense that people do this all the time. I guess it's a good idea to try and get to know the person first. I feel like a right twit.

So is there anything I can do? Just pray that it doesn't make it onto the net, and that no one I know ever sees it if it does.

Sorry, but AgonySceneGirl is right. How would you go about erasing something like this???

This is the internet.

Some people do do it all the time. But those of us who don't want our risque pics/videos plastered all over the internet don't do it.

Getting to know someone well might help, but it's not a guarantee by any means. In the past year, there was a thread from a woman who had her naked pics shared and posted online by a guy she knew well after they parted ways. So, be very, very careful about who you share your private info with. If you don't want it all over, don't share it. You might want to limit sharing pics with people you know in person or have established a solid relationship with. That's still risky, but at least you have a shot at getting a sense of who someone is before you decide to share.

So, yes, all you can do is hope for the best at this point and make better choices in the future. Hopefully nothing will come of it, but either way, it's a good lesson, right? :)

ASG: what the fuck, having a bad day or something? i'll be sure to remember just how helpful you were next time you ask a question.

sydney: i think the question you need to ask yourself is whether your identity can be unambiguously established: webcam images tend not to be the highest quality, and if you weren't doing close-ups of your face into your webcam, you might be safe. ?

I would think a simple mask around the eyes, fixing the hair a different way, maybe a temporary color or something of that nature might work.

And it's not like a woman always gives her real name all the time, even in real life.

I mean DAMN people THINK!

What?

No, I just come to know the ways of people over the years. ;)

There is a very good posiblilty that you were recorded if the person wanted to do so. So it a toss of a coin, 50 - 50 chance that you were recorded.

next time you try it and you should go ahead and try it again: dont show your face and hide any tatoos that you have if you have them. Put a mask on if you want to show your head. That way you can do anything you want and will not have to worry about it being recorded because if it is, well there is no way to identify you.
