I know that copyright is a topic that has been discussed elsewhere, and I've read a variety of opinions that vary from (a) what you publish on Literotica is yours and subject to copyright laws (at least in the USA) and (b) tough - its a free site and there's nothing you can do if others 'borrow' your work.

I've just found that at least one of my stories (http://www.literotica.com/s/the-beach-house-8) has been reproduced on another site called "SpicyGalz" (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/spicygalz/). It was taken within a day or two of my publishing it and there is no acknowledgement of my work. I'm also told that SpicyGalz regularly steals other stories, so perhaps yours is there too (do a search).

Not sure what I can do about it. I've sent SpicyGalz a strongly worded email but I suspect they couldn't give a rat's dick about it, noting they stole in the first place. I've asked Literotica what advice they have and am awaiting that, but I imagine there isn't much.

Anyone else had similar problems? It's frustrating to think that my many hours of work are just being stolen without even the courtesy of acknowledgement.

I hesitate joining this group to find out if my stories have been stolen.

It happens all the time. I've found my stories posted elsewhere, often with credit given to me, but sometimes not. I know in the past that, if Laurel was informed that a site was stealing work, she would contact the site and demand the work be removed. Not sure if that's the case anymore (I just recently returned to Lit after being away a few years).

Anything we post on Lit is always in danger of being reproduced or stolen. There really isn't much we can do other than to contact the site and demand that either credit is given where it's due, or that it's removed.

I've given up trying to find if my stories are posted somewhere else.
