Hey,

Just found out that my 'Journal of a Proper Young Lady' has been stolen and posted on a blog. I figure that if they've gotten around to stealing mine, then in all likelihood they've stolen from others as well. Author names and titles have been removed, so you might want to have a look and find out if yours are there.

There's an email address to report abuse to on

http://blogbugs.org/contact.php

but since they say it's for "Abuse, complians (sic)" I'm not sure how much good it will do.

Ok, so he's either ripped the photos from the site in the link, or works for them, but I reckon the site managers for the blog won't be too impressed - they probably have a ban on images like that.

Checking for any of my stuff now.

This one at least has contact information for the person running the blog. That might be the first place to start. Who knows, maybe he'll see the light without draconian measures.

Unfortunately, this one wasn't nice ( dumb ) enough to steal Lits cats too, making it easy as pie to find your stuff. You'll have to scroll through the whole morass to find anything.

If he doesn't respond, start emailing the websites where his pics come from, informing them that he is posting them on his blog while violating copyright at the same time. He may be stealing the pics too, and if not, illegal activity in connection with their content surely isn't good for the bottom line. Never know when that might get that websites lawyers on his ass and get him shut down without any additional effort on our part ;)

Oddly enough, I saw Lit as one of the rotating links at the top of this blog as I was clicking through :p How considerate

You should contact the site and give them the facts that work of yours that is copyright and of which you exert the moral right of authorship is posted on their site without permission. Give them details and insist politely that they remove it.

If it is a US site that may work.

Also, PM Laurel at Lit giving her the details of the case. The site owners here are very active in fighting copyright infringements - and practiced, as it happens all too often.

Good luck.
