If we are going to get fussy —
It makes the assumption that what you are looking for actually exists and that it can be found...and then, that you RECOGNIZE it when you have found it — otherwise, you will likely keep looking, and therefore it is NOT in the last place you look.

I have to go to work (referring to only one of my jobs), I have to grade projects and deal (within the restrictive guidelines of the college) with irresponsible students, I have to that woman's assignments (though not all of them are odious).
