i often find myself taking the women's side in arguments or often wondering if its the guys fault rather then the woman's ... i am aware of this so i often make myself take a second look at situations but it seems my first instinct is nearly always to take the females side

also i know there is manipulative women out there but i have a very hard time spotting them ... right until its painfully obvious

i just wondered if its same for other people to take the side of their own gender when its a dispute between a man and a woman

Entirely depends on the argument or debate at hand.

it depends....often i'm more likely to take the side of the person i'm closest to...or sometimes the one who's currently giving me their side (unless it's obvious they're stretching the truth or being unreasonable)

see thats the trouble it doesn't for me ... i nearly always find myself taking the woman's side first ... unless its a plainly obvious that the woman is in the wrong i will take her side ... its not like i hate men either at all (although i joke sometimes about that on lit)

Depends on the situation. With relationship problems, I find that there's things women tend to do and things men tend to do that the other can't understand.

So if one of my girlfriends says to me, "why can't he just *know* to do such-and-suck without me having to tell him?" then I launch my standard "men aren't mindreaders" lecture.

If a guy-friend of mine says, "why does she need constant reassurance?" I launch my well-rehearsed "just do it, you asshole" speech.

In other situations, it depends, but I give more weight to my relationships with fellow females than I do with males. Guys come and go, but your girlfriends know your secrets. ;)

Give me an example argument and I can tell you which side I will take :D

i don't think i've got a good argument that i can post right now

all the troubles i get involed in with my friends seem so complicated you need a PHD just to understand them let alone explain them :)

if i can think of one i'll post it in this thread without telling you which gender is which :)

No, not really, unless the topic brings up feelings of personal experiences of my own so that I relieve the emotions of it all. However, I almost always stick to a morale code of principals that if either gender violates I line up against in opposition.

I also have friends that are good friends but that I realize if I were the opposite sex I would never get to know romantically or intimately (or even platonically most likely-lol) as I think they would make terrible b/fs.

^^^^^^^Hates men because she was raped by her father when she was 9

Don't joke about that kind of stuff and never state it unless you know it to be true.

Actually she IS a lesbian though (if I am not mistaken) so I' not surprised about her pro-female/male bias, it makes sense when you think about it.

I take no Side in anyone else's argument.
You got crossfired and end up as collateral damage.
Women always right anyway.

I prefer stick with girls just like you

Two kinds of people for the most part, lets categorize them animal-wise in attitude, Wolf people and Cougars (kool kats). Wolf people travel in large packs of close friends and have the mentality of "women come and go but ...." if they are male OR "men come and go but friends blah-blah-blah" if they are women.

I am a Cougar person, more of a "lone wolf", so I can care less about my own gender if they are in the wrong IMO and I can and do lose some respect for the friends I do have if they treat their g/f's badly IMO regardless of the excuses or rationalizing they come up with in explaining it in "guy-talk".

There are many men who are more than eager to 'stick-up' for women. *rimshot!*

You love me! You really, realy love me!

scrymettet, I wasn't drinking last night and I have never, in my life, had a hangover.

well at least shes honest about it

women are, with few exceptions, crap at arguing

I think most women are good at debating but TERRIBLE about admitting behavior or habits of their own that they feel guilty or ashamed of doing, they just more often than not ignore or rationalize it away to excuse their own actions so they don't have to think about it or change anything. Men probably do the same thing though...But many will at least admit to bad behavior when pressed on it, or even be shameless about it, but changing it is another thing.

perhaps it was just a lucid moment brought on by lack of sleep ?

Scrymettet, What were you imbuing your body with last night?

Sexy-girl, I am ever lucid. My mind's-eye possesses the vision of a hawk and the clarity of a pure mountain stream before it reaches the farmlands.

I find that I do tend to side with a woman since I have a natural bias, but I do like to know what both people have to say before I put any opinion in. If it is asked for, first.
