Stereotypes

I have noticed in all Literotica stories some stereotypes, unwritten rules (or are they really written?) that all authors follow:
1 - In Literotica stories all women: married, single, virgin or not, are insatiable she-wolves, nymphomaniacs. Ready for great sexual marathons, whatever they may be. There is no middle ground.
2 - Women have multiple orgasms in all intercourse, voluntary or forced, even in the most brutal ones. Aren't there doses of misogyny in these stereotypes?
3 - A significant preference of some authors for degrading scenes. Okay, there are readers for this type of category, but I miss stories with a lot of sex, in all ways, but pleasurably, healthily, why not?
I would like authors and readers, including women, to speak out on this subject. Very grateful.

What categories are you reading in? There would be thousands of stories that don't go near those stereotypes at all.

I wrote "Snuggy-Wuggy" specifically to have zero humiliation or degradation, with partners who love each other and want only to make each other happy. Yet it's BDSM. Chris has exactly one orgasm. She's very satiated. Her wife doesn't come at all (in this story, she's orgasmic at other times), because the trope I find annoying is that all good sex ends with both (or all) partners coming at exactly the same time. That's great, but it's hardly the only way things can go.

The women in my stories are mostly sexually liberated, without hang-ups. So they're happy to have all kinds of sex, as long as it's on their own terms.

Some have orgasms from intercourse, but often it will be from oral, or from other stimulation during the intercourse.

And I'm not into degradation, so that's not really a feature of my stories.

I don't think I'm unique in all this. But perhaps some categories lean more heavily than others into the tropes the OP mentions.

Okay, I may have exaggerated a bit. What I meant was this: almost all the stories I've read over the past few months, maybe a hundred, have more or less conformed to the stereotypes I mentioned. I've read very few that fall outside of these patterns. Thanks for the feedback.

As I say in another comment, I don't read all the Lierotica stories and may have made some unfortunate generalizations. Sorry for that.
I'm glad to know that you and other authors don't follow most of the patterns I've observed in dozens of other stories. I'll try to read your work. Thanks for the intelligent comment.

You didn't say what categories you read in. Some are more cliched than others, both by way of title and sub-title - both of which you can read before you click into the story. What's your pick and choose criteria?

I have read different categories of stories, such as Loving Wives, Group Sex, Couplings, Interracial Love, Lesbian Sex and others. I'm liberal when it comes to themes and categories. I only restrict incest and violence. Well-written stories, with a beginning, middle and end have my preference. There are stories with these qualities in Literotica. I get bored with repetitions of behaviors, not creative stories. That's what I call stereotypes: stories without that seem to obey unwritten rules.

Have you read the top twenty? Okay, the multiple orgasm stereotype is present in a couple (but there's some truth behind that one) but otherwise you won't find any of the stereotypes you mention.

Hell, my (current) entry into the top twenty doesn't even feature a sex scene!

To all authors and readers: I love sex stories, even the bold ones, all categories except incest and human degradation. I know there are many well-written stories on Literotica. In the first comment I may have made some unfortunate generalizations, but I have already apologized for that. Thanks a lot.

Relax. I doubt anyone is taking offence. And you’re not entirely wrong, for the super-hot, multi-orgasmic woman and her muscular, always-ready, well-hung male counterpart are, sadly, all too common.

On the other hand, as somebody I should remember pointed out years ago, it they wanted to see old, fat, unattractive people have sex, they’d put a mirror in their ceiling. This site deals in sexual fantasy and the easiest way to write sexual fantasy is by raking through every stereotype going. To write good smut without those stereotypes is possible, but more difficult and hence one sees less of it.

Keep looking. The truth is out there.
