"Goodnight Mrs Longoria!" I leaned over and gave Eva's mom a warm hug. I've always teased her after the famous Desperate Housewives star, but it was only because I really thought she was a hot mom. And I loved the way she blushed whenever I teased her. What I haven't mentioned before though, was that almost all the guys in college had been fantasizing about her one way or another. It was a little secret between Eva and myself.
"See you Eva," I said, as I reached my arms around her neck as I stepped out of the car. My best friend, sister, confidante; we shared almost everything you can possibly imagine. I waved as the car pulled away and disappeared slowly in the distance.
I turned towards my own front porch and skipped towards it. And then I stopped short of the front door. I felt a flush running through my body as I began to think of the things Eva and the girls had said about my step-dad a few weeks back. Since I was the one who teased Eva's mom the most, my own parents weren't spared. And while I had always known it at the back of my mind, hearing the girls commenting that Daddy was hot made me squirm a little. It complicated things.
I shook the thoughts away though, looking forward to having the rest of the night off from housework too. It was an agreement made between Daddy and I. Plus there was a good chance Mom would be out, which meant I could save myself from some of her incessant nagging.
I turned the key in the door, and opened it to greet an empty living room, even if the lights were still on.
