Ah, that makes much more sense, and it sounds like a good story. She's an evil step-daughter, out to manipulate and ultimately control her family. Is she doing it simply because she's an evil, calculating bitch, or does she have deeper motives? Maybe she blames the family for her father's death, who she loved very much, or she simply thinks they're disrespectful to his memory, and the mother's jumping into bed with another man way too quickly. Maybe it becomes a revenge story.
