NOT necessarily the ones I write, but ones I read. I want to create a list of authors and books-- if you have anyone, please add.

Lesbian fantasy and science fiction, guys! I just downloaded a freebie from her site, called "The Dark Wife" and I'll let you know what I think of it.

I'll have to check that out. :D

So almost shameless self plug here. I'm actually turning a little pink since it's well me that wrote it. I'm the gal nobody wants to admit they read but darnit I know I get read alot. Anyway, I started a lesbian series that is decidedly science fiction featuring a gal who is actually a robot. There's only one actual sex scene and I probably fucked it up but it's earned a red H so at least ten people liked it.

Oh and I almost forgot, you can find it by clicking here. Of course if you are feeling like clicking on me and going to my homepage it's Sar:First mission, I'll get the second mission done eventually. This is for all those who don't look me up religiously yet do read my stories. Stella I'm totally looking at you here. :p

One story that sort of featured a trans theme was written a long time ago, by Samuel Delany, called "Triton". Main character changes from male to female (which is accomplished quite easily in that time and place), and it isn't necessarily a main theme of the book. Delany is interesting, because he was a rarity in SF, being both gay and black:).

Not sure it is entirely within the GLBT realm, but thought I would give her a plug, Susan Wright has written a series of SF books called the "slave trade" series, that are heavy on the d/s side of things, and she has several others featuring D/s. On top of everything else she is good people, she was one of the founders of the National Coalition for Sexual Freedom, that actively gets involved with issues involving BD/SM and also GLBT issues.....and she once told me I have great legs, so I owe her a favor:)

Tanya Huff's smoke series is fun - a gay wizard who also works in television production, and his mostly-ex-boyfriend, who's a vampire who writes romance novels, save the world a lot. (Though it makes more sense if you already read the blood series.)

Got one for you, a series written by two women, Madeleine Urban and Abigail Roux, called the "cut and run' series (the first book was titled that).....the story is about two FBI agents who ended up a lot more then partners, with a lot of thrills, spills and everything else, it isn't conventional and despite the beginning of the first book, is not about the uptight prick with the out of control partner:). The fact that the two FBI agents are guys is what makes this different. Don't know how to classify it, to be honest, but it sure as hell isn't 'straight' fiction in any regards....I am reading it in e-book form, don't know about paperback or whatever...

Sounds like slash :)

Yeah, I can vouch for the Christa Faust. I assume you mean the Double D Double Cross. Good book and good sex.

I don't read much in the way of bi/gay/trans fiction, so if I happen to come across something it's by accident.

One of my favourites is "The World Wreckers" by Marion Zimmer Bradley, one of her 'Darkover' SF novels (she later wrote Mists of Avalon & sequels). Set in the far future, they have a vaguely medieval tone in which psychic powers substitute for magic, more or less. This particular one would probably be considered trans/hetero rather than lesbian - she does have a number of gay male characters in some of the other books in this series, but no lesbian characters than I can recall.

Sex is far from the main topic in the book, but one of the subplots involves a man who falls in love with an androgynous alien (of a hermaphroditic race). There's a very touching sex/love scene about 3/4 of the way through the book - no panting "Oh fuck me with your hard cock you studly man uhn uhn!" but it's fairly involved without going into explicit detail.

I happened to like the series and the author, so this scene was a bonus for me. I doubt it's taught in any GLBT literature classes as the scene in question is really just a small portion (a few pages) of the book.
