Maybe I'm tragically alone in this universe, but I have a steampunk fetish. Steampowered, pseudo-Victorian... corsets, maids, cravats, whips, horses and buggies, fancy houses, velvet and silk and faces black from coal, fires blazing hot, and a red hot poker...

Now maybe it's just me, but this sort of historical time period fetish crosses over very well with BDSM and could easily become a fetish. There's not much out there to meet my fetishistic wants, though. I can think of all of one steampunk erotica comic, and though there's a bit of machina erotica, there's not much... not much.

But steampunk isn't just a Victorian fetish. The interesting thing about steampunk is that it takes and blends the technology and the time period and then amps the technology up by five thousand.

And then you get sexy women, sexy men,

And all sorts of wonderfully fetishable things.

Just as long as you have the eyes to see it...

Who else feels a little tingle when they listen to clockwork and play with old keys and wonder what they might unlock? Who else puts on goggles and looks at their shadow and finally feels just right?

Sure, steampunk has a connection to a lot of other fetishes, but there's something about the genre itself that makes me want to don my goggles, button my brass buttons and wear a massive skirts while fighting clockwork birds escaped from their cages... and then write porn about it.

Fellow steampunks, show yourself!

Oh yeah, I don't SRP (because I find good grammar a turn-on, no lie, bad writing turns me right off, and most writers in there, no offence, but of the threads I've dropped in to read a good portion of them CANNOT write well!) but I suppose there may be some hiding in there!

I gave a read of what you guys started and it looks like it had potential indeed.

Aw, your post was all right, Vail! It didn't make me attempt to gag myself with a spoon which is a pretty good start!

I agree about the badass women! I didn't think about it before but it's true, there are often more independant female characters when you start getting into steampunk... not just women looking for love!

You are not alone, But it is posible there is just two of us.

I love the past time futuristic looks of it.
Its a very unique fantasy world that just grasps me.

NICE pic! And yes, it is a very unique fantasy world!

Fascinating. I like steampunk but I've never thought of it as erotic before. Where do you think it came from for you? Do you likes games, or movies?

(I have had a love affair with language as far back as I can remember...and I adore how words can reach out and touch skin like fingertips...or fingernails)

I think a lot of people would agree with you there, I certainly do.
I just wish my own english linguistic skills would be better, but given the fact I am not a native speaker I fear I will never be up to par.

I do wish there was more visual artwork of the erotic steampunk out there.
It is very hard to come by unfortunately.

I do however, remember my first run in with steampunk, you might like this gallery, I hope it works.

Hmm... well, both, really. My first exposures to steampunk likely came from Adventures in Odyssey, which is a Christian kids series (there's cartoons of it but I started with the radio episodes!) with an airship and time travel going on, and of course those were my favorite episodes. Then of course, the Final Fantasy games are definitely full of steampunky themes, for a really mainstream example.

I loved historical books with a side of adventure, like Sherlock Holmes, and movies set in old London. Hey, even Disney movies had snickets and bits of what I loved.

So throughout all of my childhood, I developed this fascination for all things goggles, airships, and set in that specific time period. When I finally discovered steampunk as steampunk, it clicked. I loved it. This intersected with about the same time as I discovered BDSM (I was around 18 by that point and a lot more freely wandering the web), and the elements of bondage and powerplay found in the genre stood out to me and I found them way more fetishable than the latex, shiny leather, plastic and black that seemed so common in kink. I loved the kink and I loved the grittiness of steampunk and so it's blossomed into a fetish for brown beaten leather and velvet gloves, scratchy lace and leather straps...

It is definitely for me tied into the bondage fetish, to become a fetish of its own.

laughing well, I set the bar pretty high for myself. That post really needed to be a short story.

Anyhow, I wonder what percentage of steampunk is written by women. Victorian style certainly seems to more attractive to women in general, so that probably plays a part.
Yeah, I set the bar pretty high for myself too. But I'd RP with you!

We must fix this lack! Maybe I'll do some illustrated short stories set in a steamy environment. ;)

Your English seems pretty good, better than a lot of native speakers!

I'm totally taking that as a compliment.
And I approve your idea for a steamy steampunk comic
;)

It is a compliment! I just don't have a good IDEA for an RP to pitch at you; I rarely come in prepared, I usually brainstorm things up in co with anyone who I RP with.

Also Chester 500XYV may be the only steampunk erotica comic in existence but it's definitely worth reading. I probably wouldn't make a comic... running one is hard enough!... but illustrate a story, maybe.

Yeah, I'm a character creator too. It's all about the characters. I suppose if we ever do something we'll just have to take two characters and chuck them at each other and see what happens. :D

I have a primary RP partner (not here, and not SRP) who steals most of my time though.

Even my CLOCKWORK TIME.

Not steampunk, but I have the same type of fetish for fantasy. Guys with long hair, colorful clothing in rich fabrics or leather, swords or jewelry, cloaks or robes, knee boots... yummy. So I can sympathize.

I also find it very difficult to find a good SRP, although that's mainly because I'd prefer to do m/m or herm/herm, and there's not a lot of that going on here. Probably I should do research and figure out where on the internet all the high quality m/m roleplay happens. But that would involve actual work, lol.

I never considered it to be a fetish for me (never came to mind) but I've loved steampunk for years now and I find it to be a remarkable turn on.... but maybe its just because I like corsets, leather, and metal :D

just a piece of trivia
the first vibrators were actually steam powered, I believe they consisted of a vibrating ball powered by a engine in ajoining room

I will most certainly have to keep my eye on you then, illustrated stories would be amazing.

And thank you, that is a very big compliment for me. I do try my best.

I wish I could help out with fixing the lack, but I fear my skills in illustration are non existant. Anything else I would love to help with though!

@Vail I've got a whole world and mythology built, but I don't play well with strangers! It's special to me. I've lost so much time in that place...

@sunandshadow You should make a fantasy thread, then! And an m/m fetish thread. And a herm/herm fetish thread. You'll find others and maybe some of them will be fellow writers. As for where to look... oh boy. Fanfiction. You'll find your m/m lovers amidst the fanficcers.

@MasterandSir And I propose that it is because you like STEAMPUNK!

@reachedme Yep! It was called the Manipulator and here's some history for other people who might be interested. http://women.timesonline.co.uk/tol/life_and_style/women/article4032852.ece

@Kudram123 Oh, I'm a good illustrator. I'm just bad at short stories. I have to be completely in the zone. Right now I'm still working on my Earth Day story (it's steampunk!) but maybe after I'll see.

Well, in this case, her's is big enough that there's no worry I'll step on anything. Not significantly, at least.
Our romp is fairly localized and focused.

Hee, to be fair mine would be big enough for that too, I've just found I'm absolutely terrible at handing those creative reins over!

What kind of world is it?

I will be looking forward to your Earth Day story, are you entering it in the contest? It sounds like a story I simply MUST support.

And I completely get "the zone" I have the same when I write something, I can be deadlocked for a week and then type faster then my keyboard can process.

Indeed, it's a contest entry or I wouldn't be bothering with the environmental themes. It is definitely a one of a kind story, I think... it's steampunk environmental historical fiction Canadian BDSM. LOL.

The genre isn't my cup, but what a great word! Steampunk. It's a keeper.

Steampunk is a genre that is very much ignored when it comes to the more sensual side of it, although it as plenty of room to throw spice in.

Yes, steampunk is a genre that gets me thinking in a lot of things at the same time. Its the victorian dressing code, so repressive and yet so provocative at the same time, so elegant and intricate with detail and luxury.

Its about the technology, steam-powered, rugged and menacing, but at the same time wrapped with style and - do I dare - beauty of detail and precision, producing machines that defy the mind, so many times presenting modern-day machines produce with more archaic techniques.

Yes, its one of those genres that tickles my brain.

Way back in the mists of time at the (to my knowledge) origins of the Steampunk style in fiction, there were sensual elements amidst the horror. I will try to find some examples.
