The ports of Jamaica were bustling as usual, every one from spice sellers to pirates shouting and vying for their own piece of territory. It was a place where any body could become lost in and all you needed to do was board a ship and you could find your self anywhere.
It was some thing Alexander “Angel” Tiberius was hopping for
He walked across the wooden board walking waving at a few passing merchants as they hollered and moved various boxes, he already had the looks of a sailor some thing he had used to it’s fullest advantage, ships could be hesitant to new comers and even more so if you looked like a fresh faced recruit the minute they saw you, it was for that reason that he had let his long black hair grown out making it look scruffy and unkempt, it was free of his face though allowing any one to see his strong chin handsome features and electric green eyes, he didn’t have much money to begin with (which was what found him on the dock today) but he had enough to afford a decent pair of long boots that went to his knees a simple tunic that opened at the top to give little peeks at his muscular chest and strong arms form farming, he completed the looks with simple brown pants and a duffel bag he bought to contain his few measly possessions.
He paused frowning, as he looked at all the people bustling around the wooden dock; the question now was what ship he would find himself on? He could sail for the British or the Spanish if he wanted to but that would mean war if eventually. The different countries were always clashing with each other locking in combat for a few years before breaking apart and forming a “treaty” that would keep them at bay for a few more years. It was a process that was long and filled with danger and Angel didn’t want any part of it.
“So a merchant then” Angel murmured stroking his chin softly and ignoring a few working girls calling for him “but wish one?” He asked himself again scanning the dockworkers holding a sign up sheet. He finally saw a large wooden ship at the end putting boxes down while a man sat by the entrance calling out for any men to join them if they were willing. Angel thought the ship looked decent enough and they weren’t flying any countries flag, which meant they were hopefully a merchant vessel. Happy with his choice he walked over shouldering past a couple of rough looking men engaged in lairs dice and reaching the end of the dock
“I’d like to sign up” Angel said smiling “I’m looking for a ship to sign up with” he said trying ot sound as confident as possible.
