I did do a search in the "AH" forum and got "no results found" so here is my question.
The status line under my name has changed from "virgin" to "experienced". Is this related to a) the number of stories posted on LIT. or b) the number of times I've participated or asked questions here in "AH"?
I do have an inquisitive mind (nosy as hell to be honest) even at mid-fifties.

Number of posts total. 30 for your virginity if memory serves. It was a while ago for me in many ways.

At 100 posts, you get an AV and at 1000 posts you can put up your own custom sign under your name.

By the way, welcome to the madhouse.

I just knew that if I kept praying about it, that I would somehow get my virginity back! :D

I'm hearing George Carlin in my head about losing things. After you die, you get most things back you had lost in your lifetime.

Virginity? You don't get that back cuz you were in such a hurry to lose it to begin with.

Anyhow.

Wilkommen, bienvenue, welcome.

Don't forget ¡Bienvenidos! :)

How do you do that with the !

An easy way is to use a lower case i - iBienvenidos!

One way is by using the Alt key held down while you type the number. Note that depending on your keyboard this might only work with the numbers at the top of the keyboard or the number pad at the side.

Edited to add: A list is at http://www.alt-codes.net/

I use the Alt keys because I have been using them since my operating system was CP/M.

With the Alt keys. Alt 173 = ¡

Therefore ¡Bienvenidos!

If you look very closely you can see that the inverted exclamation mark is more tapered than in an i. Here are larger versions to show the difference:

¡Bienvenidos!

iBienvenidos!

I use alt 0161 when I type on my laptop. Alt 0191 for ¿. iPhone or iPad is easier. Just hold down the regular ! Or ? and the menu pops up. I have my students take French and Spanish tests on iPads just for that reason. My laptop at work doesn't have a number pad, so I still lug my personal laptop to and from school every day.
