Since the updated story pages are so bloody useless at finding stats now, does anyone have any numbers regarding story views for Novels/Novellas vs Romance?

Will a 70k standalone story get more hits in Romance or in N/N? The recent 25 lists for both categories seem to go back about a week equally.

I have no stats to share, but my impression of both categories tells me that it's unlikely that the number of views would be much different regardless of which category out of those two you end up choosing. I would advise you to choose according to the story theme and plot rather than the perceived number of readers in each category. The feedback you get in ratings and comments might be different depending on your choice.
By the way, 70k words is quite big so did you consider releasing it in chapters instead? The size might put off some readers, I don't know. These things aren't an exact science, they are just based on our impressions and experiences.

See @8letters 's thread on votes by category: https://forum.literotica.com/threads/8l-stats-average-vote-by-category.1597531/#post-97724911.

Also, to get updated useful information, I recommend looking at the 12 month and 30 day toplists for these two categories. These lists will show you the highest-scoring stories in these categories, but you can see the number of votes, which will give you a relative idea of how many people are reading stories in one category versus the other. If you want more information you can click on the listed stories and get total view and story length information.

I struggle with this. By inclination I write long form because the characer's must have an inner life beyond smut.
My first outings on this site were 40k to 50k. Then I wrote a seven part series that varied from 12k to 35k (130k total) Then I dashed off a couple at about the 12k mark and these seem to have been better received, simply because they're easier to digest I suppose.
I committed a major faux pas with my series because I put each episode in the category where I thought it best fitted. How not to retain a readership.
However, another author wrote an absolutely belting review of the thing as a whole so maybe that will encourage people to stick with it to the end. It's certainly encouraged me to think about self publishing the thing as a novel.
Anyway, back to the point. If (if) the writing manages to draw the reader in from the outset then I think many readers will stay with it, regardless of whether it's in the novella category or not.

You could talk to Laurel about republishing the series in one category.

But which? It sits roughly one third in each of Erotic Couplings, Lesbian Sex & Sci Fi!!
If I was going to classify it for, say, Amazon, it would be fantasy

Do you want people to engage and comment? Lesbian Sex. Highest number of views and comments.
Ratings? Sci-Fi/Fantasy.
I would avoid Erotic Couplings. Low reader engagement and ratings.
