House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) countered President Obama’s assertion that he’s “not familiar” with Benghazi whistleblowers being blocked from testifying by noting four letters sent to the administration since mid-April asking that information be made available to the whistleblowers’ laywers.

“I’m not familiar with this notion that anybody has been blocked from testifying,” Obama told a reporter at today’s press conference. “So what I’ll do is I will find out what exactly you are referring to.”

“A lawyer for Benghazi whistleblowers has publicly stated that the State Department is blocking her client’s ability to talk freely with counsel,” Issa said in a statement afterward. “Over the past two weeks, I have sent four letters requesting that this administration make information available about how lawyers – who already have security clearances and are representing Benghazi whistleblowers – can be cleared to fully hear their clients’ stories. I have yet to receive any response from the Obama administration.”

“Even if the president really doesn’t know anything about someone wanting to come forward, his position should be that whistleblowers deserve protection and that anyone who has different information about Benghazi is free to come forward to Congress,” the chairman added. “The president’s unwillingness to commit himself to protecting whistleblowers only aids those in his administration who are intimidating them.”

Issa sent letters on April 16 to the Defense Department, State Department and CIA, and another letter to the State Department on April 26.

After Obama’s press conference, Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) renewed their call for Senate leadership to appoint a joint select committee to investigate the Benghazi attack and the administration’s role.

“Revelations about witnesses being afraid to testify and military assets that could have been deployed in a timely fashion justify appointing a joint select committee,” the senators said in a joint statement.

“In light of these new revelations it is imperative that we learn everything we can from what happened before, during and after the attacks. We cannot allow those who serve our nation to feel abandoned when under attack, or by Congress afterwards… As with any investigation, the longer we delay, the harder it is to find the truth. We have already waited too long.”

Report: We Have the Intel to Kill, Capture Those Responsible for Benghazi Attack

The United States has identified the mastermind of the 9/11 attack on our diplomatic facility in Benghazi that left four Americans dead but is not moving to kill or capture him, according to a source in special operations who helped to debrief survivors.

“We basically don’t want to upset anybody,” he told Fox News. “We have all the capability, all the training, all the capacity to kill and capture not only terrorists involved with the specific events involved with 9/11 and Ambassador Stevens’s death, but terrorists who are feeding other regions, including Europe, that eventually could affect our national security — in the short term, we’re not talking mid-term or long-term.”

Former Justice Department lawyer Victoria Toensing told the network that a State Department official with inside knowledge of the attacks has retained her counsel, and that the administration has both threatened her client and prevented her from obtaining the clearance she needs to access classified documents.

President Obama earlier today told reporters, “I’m not familiar with this notion that anybody’s been blocked from testifying. So what I’ll do is I will find out what exactly you’re referring to,” said Mr. Obama when reporters asked about the whistleblowers. Toensing accused the president of lying to the press corps.

Senator John McCain agreed. “The administration has lost its credibility,” he said.

The House Oversight Committee, chaired by representative Darrell Issa, will continue its investigation into the attacks next week

I noticed you never responded in the other thread when the latest report stated EXACTLY what I told you a month ago.

That's ok.

You can say I was right.

I'll wait:rolleyes:

I told you the military wasn't postured to respond.

You called me a dummy, and CornBoy said I had no 'operational knowledge' (as if his knowledge of a musket line is relevant).

BUT - Ole Johnny was vindicated; which should surprise nobody.

Shocker: Obama Lied When He Said “Not Familiar” With Accusations His Admin Was Intimidating Benghazi Witnesses

When asked about Benghazi whistle blowers being intimidated, Obama claimed to reporters yesterday he was “not familiar with this notion that anybody has been blocked from testifying”. Notice he doesn’t actually answer the question about whether he knew they were being intimidated, just whether they have been “blocked from testifying”.

Yet Representative Darrell Issa said in a statement today he has repeatedly written to the Obama team directly asking them to resolve the issue of the State Dept blocking the witnesses lawyers from getting proper information they have requested, that he sent 4 separate letters.

Via Washington Examiner:

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., accused President Obama of “aid[ing] those in his Administration who are intimidating” potential Benghazi whistle-blowers, because Obama pleaded ignorance when asked about the issue today.

“Even if the President really doesn’t know anything about someone wanting to come forward, his position should be that whistleblowers deserve protection and that anyone who has different information about Benghazi is free to come forward to Congress,” Issa said in a statement today. “The President’s unwillingness to commit himself to protecting whistleblowers only aids those in his Administration who are intimidating them.”

Obama was asked if he would help State Department employees, survivors of the Benghazi terrorist attack, who have told reporters that they are being blocked from testifying on what they know of the assault.

“I’m not familiar with this notion that anybody has been blocked from testifying,” Obama replied. “So what I’ll do is i will find out what exactly you are referring to.”

But Issa has written the Obama team repeatedly about the subject. “A lawyer for Benghazi whistleblowers has publicly stated that the State Department is blocking her client’s ability to talk freely with counsel,” Issa said. “Over the past two weeks, I have sent four letters requesting that this Administration make information available about how lawyers – who already have security clearances and are representing Benghazi whistleblowers – can be cleared to fully hear their clients’ stories. I have yet to receive any response from the Obama Administration.”

Report: Mastermind Behind Benghazi Attack Known And Capable Of Being Arrested, Yet He Is Still Free; Continuing Threat Being Ignored By Obama Administration

The special operator says the administration is doing nothing, even though the threat is building, because “they don’t want to offend anyone”. Where have we heard this before?

For Pat Smith, for Charles Woods, for all the families, and for our own sake, we must get justice and action on Benghazi. Seven months and still counting…

Via Fox News Insider:

It’s been seven months since the September 11 Benghazi, Libya attacks and there have been no arrests. The second of a three-part exclusive investigation digging into Benghazi aired on Special Report tonight.

Multiple sources tell Fox News that the United States has identified the mastermind behind the attack, who is still in Libya and walks free. A special operator, whose identity was concealed for safety, watched the events unfold and spoke to Fox News’ Adam Housley.

He chose to speak out because he’s frustrated with excuses, lies and lack of military response since Ambassador Chris Stevens and three more Americans were killed in Benghazi. “We have all the capability […] to kill and capture not only terrorists involved with the specific events of 9/11 and Amb. Stevens’ death, but terrorists who are feeding other regions including Europe that could eventually affect our national security in the short term.”

The special operator said that the second highest population of foreign fighters in the war in Iraq came from Benghazi – second only to Saudi Arabia. “The intelligence experts that I work with all say the same thing, that if we just ignore the situation as it presents itself, eventually another invasion will have to take place.”
