The Peris had looked beautiful as her shuttle had appoached the star liner, it glimmered in the blackness of space like a silver snowflake. Now as she watched it tear it's self apart she felt like she was watching a wounded animal die.

She didn't know why the Peris was dying..she only knew that she had been pushed down in the panic and had been placed in a life boat by somone, but the boat was empty, it had room for 10 passengers but no one else was in there with her.

She had tried to get the lifeboats software to call another boat, maybe attach them together, but the other boats didn't answer.

Software tells her that there is a planet nearby and begins hominng into it. Software says that the planet supports life but no city beacons are present, however software beams a distress signal down to the planet anyway.

The world looks huge through the porthole but on the nightside she doesn;t see any lights. On the third orbit the escape boat begins to enter the atmosphere. Software starts to give instructions for preparing for planetary entry. She listens to the computers words and buckles herself in. The boat is buffetted by reentry, she feels the thrusters cut in and then there is a jolt as the parachutes deploy.

Everything is quiet as the boat is in freefall, she see's blue sky through the porthole, software is silent, either waiting or broken. There is an impact as the boat hits the water, she see's jets of steam through the porthole and after the boat settles she can hear sloshing beneath her. She's not sure if the boat is sinking or the sounds are natural.

Going near the door triggers a light and there is a loud explosion as the door is jetisoned from the boat, she feels the planets atmosphere rush in and looking down she see's that the boat is indeed sinking.

She jumpt off of the hatcway and swims towards the shore, which seemed like it was close, but now that she is swiming it it seems much farther. Almost out of energy she at last gets to the shore. Far behind her she see's the boat slip under the waves...she is alone.

She sat on the shore panting and catching her breath as she watched her ship slip below the surface. She panicked realizing she was stranded alone on this strange island she swam to. She decided to pick herself up from the dripping shore and headed toward land realizing this island didn't seem normal..

It was dark out and she searched a bag floating toward shore for a flashlight and found it empty.She swore to herself hearing noises from afar and headed toward the sound.. She shivered heading toward a crowd she saw and wondered where exactly she was in the universe..

The creatures are dancing around a fire, at first she thought that they were survivors from the ship, then as she got closer she noticed that their faces were like beasts, with horns and tusks. Amongstthem was a woman they were savaging. Almost as one they see her and they want her next.

The figure draws a bow.

The figure steps in around her and fires an arrow into the oncomming horde, one of the things goes down with an arrow in it's throat. As if on a range, the man takes another arrow out of the quiver and puts another creature down. When he fires the third arrow the things break and run away. He fires a couple of arrows to keep them running, then turns to her.

He removes his hood, he has short close cropped hair and a hatched face, there is a slight scar on the bridge of his nose.

"I'm Jaden the Harker...who are you?"

She notices that beside the arrows he carries a wicked looking knife at his belt. He doesn't look as large as you at first thought, he is swathed in a large wolf cloak. You feel almost naked in the shipboard paper issued clothing, soaking wet from your swim.

"We need to get away from here...the orcs will come back and there will be alot of them next time."
He takes your hand and leads you along the beach, your seem to run for hours, Jaden seems never to tire, then he points to a hut.
"We can go in there...it;s safe."
He leads you into the hut. it is small but warm. He pulls a shirt out of his pack and some pants.
"You look cold...you need to get out of those wet things."
He looks away to give her some privacy.

He nods, "We Harkers are patrolers of the forest...I was luck to find you, before the orcs did."
He motions to the single bed.
"You should sleep...we will need to travel tomorrow...you will need rest."
