Physical description:
5'3", brunette, long hair, slim.
Susan Deaveraux
Susan Deaveraux watched the minute hand on the clock tick by with agonising slowness, second guessing her decision.
Jason was deploying, going where the government sent him, someplace wives didn’t need to know, and this was the first time ever she would not see him off. What was the point? They had been married almost four years, and he had been based at home for less than two of those. There had been a little bubble of hope for them, but that had burst when she had miscarried eleven months back.
Things had been falling apart for them, and this leave they had fought the entire time. She would see a lawyer and file for divorce while he was away.
Husband and wife, marriage falling apart. He’s special forces, deployed into a hostile territory, when he is in an explosion, presumed dead. He’s not. He had extensive surgery to reconstruct his face and he is kept prisoner behind enemy lines.
During his imprisonment, he was tortured for information, using drugs etc, and between that, and the explosion, he has no memory of who he is. He is rescued, along with some others at the prison, and eventually after some time in a military hospital, it is decided that he is the missing Jason Deaveraux, who is reunited with his wife – in the hopes that he will recover his memory, and recall if he spilled any state secrets while in captivity.
He neither looks nor behaves like the man who boarded the plane, and she is not certain if he is who they say he is, and nor is he.
