Yes. I start a new job on Monday which means that my time at lit will be sadly curtailed!
The job: It isn't the ideal position in that it is only part time. However, with the economy in the condition it is and current world events, I decided to take it rather than risk being unemployed for a very long time. (I am in New York and Pataki has put a freeze on state hiring. Guess where the bulk of my applications and resumes are???? )
Returning to the job: Social worker at a preschool. It does sound like fun and I do believe in prevention at the earliest possible opportunity. While the money sucks and I will have to take a second job or quit this one when full time employment is offered, I am still excited.
This has been a dilemma: I struggled with the decision to accept the job when I know it is unlikely that I can make a real commitment to the employer. I am overqualified for this position, but need something to help feed the kidlings.
Thanks lit, for your ears!
