Yes. I start a new job on Monday which means that my time at lit will be sadly curtailed!

The job: It isn't the ideal position in that it is only part time. However, with the economy in the condition it is and current world events, I decided to take it rather than risk being unemployed for a very long time. (I am in New York and Pataki has put a freeze on state hiring. Guess where the bulk of my applications and resumes are???? )

Returning to the job: Social worker at a preschool. It does sound like fun and I do believe in prevention at the earliest possible opportunity. While the money sucks and I will have to take a second job or quit this one when full time employment is offered, I am still excited.

This has been a dilemma: I struggled with the decision to accept the job when I know it is unlikely that I can make a real commitment to the employer. I am overqualified for this position, but need something to help feed the kidlings.

Thanks lit, for your ears! :)

oh wowwwwwwwwww MissTee .... i am so proud of you, dear ...

that job sounds absolutely amazing ....

overqualified? yikes .... what are you qualified to do? nuclear science? ha ha ha

... and the money sucks? well cheer up ... it can't be as bad as my salary ... lol

You rock ... and so does your new job, cherie :)

Hooray...congratulations...us daytime Lit dwellers will miss you.

MissTaken

congratulations on the new job. i sincerely hope it works out for you.
you may wind up with some funny stories to tell us on here one day.
best of luck to you.

CONGRATS MissTaken and GOOD LUCK with your new job.
I hope it all goes well for you.

wonderful news on the new job. I will miss you when you are not on! :)

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

I am a bit terrified though. The program is early education for three and four year olds. I will have 34 of them!

Eeeks!

Oh and the start date was changed to the 29th....so I will be posting like crazy until then. Hmmmm what is the treatment for lit withdrawal?

:p

Congrats on the new Job. . . and you are right with the economy it is better than being unemployed. 3 and 4 year olds are so fun and they always keep you guessing so have fun and enjoy the experience. We wish you well hope it all works out for you.

not a problem...you can handle us cant you?
that means you got experience.;)

Good luck, have fun, don't forget your lunch money!!

And I'll be here - ready to listen if you need:) But I'm sure you'll be fantabulous!!

ROFL.....

But with you guys, I get a bit of compensation with nudity and flirting. :D Your av does it for me, batter!

Not so with three year olds, your thanks is wiping runny noses and deciphering what they are trying to say! (These little ones are not from positive, stimulating home environments. )

Oh....and hugs! Lots of hugs from the little ones :)

It is going to be fun, even if I need a bubble bath and glass of wine everyday after work. Certainly will be refreshing after 11 years of working with teen agers, delinquents and truants.

Sorry for rambling, it must be the caffiene!

Congratulations Miss Taken. Best of Luck

on the new job. As for the ramblings, It's not the coffee......*wink*

Aside from Lit

MissTaken,

I am elated and glad to hear that you are taking this position and even though it is not of where your ideals and wishes in the career is heading, you are doing what needs to be done. I know you are strong and willing to do what it takes to get through life in these times and any other, but let me just say: "YOU GO GIRL!"

Sex may move us, but life will always embrace us and with both, we will reach a zenith to absolute pleasure and understanding that there is so much more to offer on many levels and so much to partake into one-fueled to many other levels and that...Miss, you are the warm heart and salacious soul that many would and should want in their life.

Thanks all for the kind words and vote of confidence!

I will definitely keep you posted with more cute kid stories than you can stomach! :D

Congrats Miss T!!!!

... from another underpayed social worker.

Good luck in your new job- have fun with the kiddies, and hopefully something full-time will come along. :)

Sign a petition under working condition
Union is in bed with the call of berettas
Carry our freedom, Lookin' for somethin'
To get your family better life for every single day

Some things keep me going
Well I got no one to blame
Five o'clock is comin'
Do you feel the same?
When a lonely whistle
Calls out your name?

Any time you feel unappreciated, just remember ...

God is watching.
And besides, look at the smiles on those kids faces,
and how they run to hug you when they see you.

Yes. I do love what I do. Of course, the younger population is a bit intimidating! :)

I am very comfortable with the gang banging, drug dealing, mother beating teens! LOL They can tell you, eventually, what needs to happen for them. (And I got lots of hugs from them, too :) )

But, when a three year old is stressed, they can't say what they are feeling. They act on it! Egads!

My own little one gives me a solid run for my money :D :)

It should be alot of fun though.

SO!!!!

how was the first day on the job?
should have had a few laughs today.
hope you dont have a headache.
