Toddlers ages three and younger have shot at least 23 people in the United States this year, according to an analysis by The Washington Post, with 18 of those incidents involving children shooting themselves.

That’s five more shootings by toddlers this year than occurred over the same span in 2015, according to the newspaper.

Last week, there was a two-year-old boy who killed his mother by shooting her from the backseat of a car in Milwaukee.

Accidental shootings by children who find a gun are just the price we pay for easy access to firearms.

If toddlers shooting their mother, or other other toddlers, or themselves, was a real issue, it would have been addressed a long time ago.

What's the bet, those same parents who failed to secure their firearms away from kids, were absolutely rabid about things like car seats, stranger danger, etc?

Yes, but if you REALLY want to be afraid of things... you should look up how many people are killed each year by swimming pools.

Now that's some scary shit.

Way more deaths than 23... and all totally preventable if only people would rise up and start a campaign to tear out all the swimming pools.

No worries, they'll probably just become NFL players and do nothing (else) worse than beat their wives, girlfriends and/or kids.
Unless they really go wrong, in which case they'll end up as grifters, preachers, dog-fight operators or flight attendents...

Pro-gun activist Jamie Gilt survived the assault by her 4-year-old son, and now faces charges and likely jail time.

Now, now don't bring reality in here and down play people's favorite past time, whining about guns.

Drunk driving is the one I like. How many deaths per year? How many kids killed by them per year?

But take away booze....whoa wait a minute! Just because a few can't handle their alcohol doesn't mean I can't....but that does not apply to gun owners, right?

How many people die in car accidents? How many kids?

No more cars!

Granted these parents are idiots for leaving the guns where a kid can get them and as for the mom shot in the car...why was there a loaded gun in the car:confused:

But how many millions of guns are legally owned in this country? How many deaths? the percentage is minuscule

But the herd must be heard!

and as long as they aren't suspected of letting air out a football the commissioner of the NFL will welcome them with open arms!

Sad as it might be, I blame the adult. When small children are around, weapons should be locked and a child should not know how to use the lock. (There are some smart kids out there)

I agree swimming pools are a lot more dangerous. Every year we have at least a handful of toddlers drown in their own pool.

And in the same line of stupidity... Do you know how many people die in hospitals every year. If you are very sick NEVER go to a hospital.

Stupid fucking cunt!

If children that young are getting hold of firearms, then their parents are obviously highly incompetent and irresponsible for not keeping firearms out of reach of their toddlers.

A three year old or younger child probably doesn't understand what a gun is and what it does.

But constitutionally they have that right. And it is upheld by 10,000 deaths every year. Think of it as a Darwinian thing to willow out the weak and stupid.

They need to invent smart guns and bullets as the owner/operators don't seem to be bloody smart at all.

Who needs brains? I got a nine!

Denny

It's illegal to have guns where children can get to them.
It's illegal to drive and be drunk.
It's illegal to have a swimming pool without proper fencing.
It's illegal to do many things but ignorent people let it happen. That's illegal!

I see you're signing your posts again...

How very ishmalesque of you.

Is the coroner putting the cause of death down as "hospital"?

Sounds pretty dangerous.

To those who have "gun-boners", as Skiddles once said:

Would you let your kid play in a household where both parents do target shooting practice every weekend, and one of the parents and two kids were diagnosed with ADHD?

True case, btw (I only played a bit with the details to make them less identifiable)

My first username hssh345.

But thanks for refreshing my memory and make me remember some of the fun times that I had with that, btw.
Check the link to Skiddle's pic. that Ann posted. :D Which was well-deserved, after the horrendous and relentless trolling on Skiddle's part.
