"Well Doctor Shaw, what do you think?"
I looked up from the monitor, sat back in the chair, to look at the man standing behind me.
"Incredible" I replied, after a few moments, "and you want me to join this program?"
"Yes, Doctor Shaw. Of course, you understand this is all top secret, national security... you can't speak about this to anyone, outside the program, whether you accept or refuse the position we're offering"
"Which is?"
"As a scientific consultant to travel with SG-6"
"I'd be crazy to say yes... but I'd be even crazier to say no, wouldn't I? Travel to other worlds... to be able to examine cultures first hand, that have long been 'extinct' on our on Earth..."
"I take it that is a yes then?"
I nodded.
"Well, if you would come with me, Doctor Shaw, I'll introduce you to the stargate team you'll be working with, SG-6"
I got up, and followed General Hammond to the briefing room.

"Sir!" saluted a marine, as we entered.
"At ease, Captain" the General said, "this is Doctor Marcus Shaw, who is being assigned to your team, to serve in a capacity similar to that held by Doctor Daniel Jackson in SG-1"
The marine Captain looked at me, smiled, and I took hold of the proffered hand thrust out to me.
"Welcome to SG-6, Doctor Shaw. I'm Captain-"

OOC: Need three or four others to round out the SG-6 team. I was considering Bastet as the goa'uld system lord (or in this case, queen) as the main protagonist, as she fits the 'Literotica profile' as it were - the cat-headed goddess of fertility in egyptian mythology (and she was Ra's daughter, the goa'uld who was killed in the film - which would give her more reason to seek revenege of the humans of earth). What do you think, guys n gals? Want to give this a shot? I think it could be fun...

Ka'uwal

OOC: ka'uwal is another goa'uld soldier who turned good after battles, i know the all the lands that have been captured by them, and i carry a new weapon, a long sword and a staff blaster. Sure i'll wait to meet up.

OOC: You're welcome to join, Dirk, but I don't think a goa'uld would fit easily in SG-6. Removing a goa'uld from a jaffa results in death. A young goa'uld poses no problems to the jaffa host. Could you edit you last post to play one of the marines in SG-6, instead? If you would really like to play a jaffa, then we could 'arrange' to meet up with you as it were in the actual story later on, a jaffa of Bastet who helps the team out, who is an agent for the Tok'ra perhaps? (the Goa'uld who are against the System Lords and their practices)

How about an interglactic bountyhunter?

I know it sounds odd, but it could fit. She is really quite old (180 earth years), but looks like a young human girl of about 19. She comes from a planet and a group of people much like the Nox, very advanced, and very dull.

She (Fiara), uses the Stargate to travel from planet to planet. Unlike the Nox her culture is frequently using the Stargate to travel between their three inhabited planets, and have mapped a multitude of other worlds.

She has a deep personal vendetta against the gohulds... besides, she prefers human men. ;)

She has a tude, and a simi-camacazi flare for battle, but is loyal unto death with those she trusts ... now getting her trust is another story. And most importantly, she loves a good "horizontal polka," especially when her partner is human. ;)

Sadira ;)

Rose Thorn

Ok, this is a WEIRD character...but what the hell, if you'll have me...

Name: Rose Thorn / Brier (goa'uld/male)

Description: 5'4", long cork-screw curl red hair, green eyes, 18

Powers: Help me out here, I haven't to watch this in a bit, that hand thing with the beam in the palm and whatever else a goa'uld can do

Past: Only child of a former SG-6 member. He accidentally carried a small device he found out with him. The device went off and somehow sent them a thousand years back in time and on the ship of dying goa'uld (who favored the Tok'Ra ideas). He tried to convince Captain Thorn to let him live on through him as he had valuable technology he could share. Before Thorn could decide, the ship was attacked and Cpt. Thorn was killed.

In order to live and avenge her father, Rose took on the goa'uld and was launched towards earth in a sarcaficus (sp? The thing also used for healing) on hybernation mode in a small cloaked pod. It just arrived.

Ok, yeah or nay....?

OOC: I am unfamiliar with SG-6. I was going to go rent the movie again cause I liked it so much. ;) However, since you asked so wonderfully nicely, I'd be glad to join Kepic. See if I can help. I'd be happy to play the captain or another marine, but I should know more about what I'm sposed to be doing, any help is appreciated. Clue me and I'm all yours baby. Heheheh.

Sarcophagus

;) Thanks for the info Kepic. I also found this one, which seems to have taken fandom to an entirely new level. Are we getting into a new subculture? Like trekkies with cooler FX? http://www.stargatesg-1.com/

So... shall I take the role of the Captain or another marine?

OOC: OK, so far, one human, one jaffa to meet up with later, one alien bounty hunter, and one time-travelling gal/Tok'ra...
Still need to round out the SG-6 Team though! Once we've got at least a couple of 'marines', I'll start the 'plot' rolling... (the other marines in SG-6 might well be wearing 'red shirts'...)
KM, theres a website you can check out for some info... http://www.stargate-sg1.com - I've emailed you some stuff from it for now...

OOC: Take up the role of the Captain, if you would KM, thnaks. I left my first post vague on the Captain's gender anyway for whoever takes the role. Okay, lets take a look elsewhere from the SGC for a moment...

The two jaffa knelt before the gha'uld queen Bastet.

"Your brother sends his regards" one said, "and hopes an alliance can be forged between yourself and he against the earth humans..."

"Half brother. We share Ra as a father, but Hathor was not my mother..." Bastet replied, "tell Heru-ur I shall consider his offer... but I will brook no interference in my own plans from him at this time".

"As you wish".

The two jaffa stood, retreating backwards from her presence.

Bastet turned to her own jaffa stood nearby, who immediately stepped forward. The lead jaffa pressed his gauntlet, and the cat-like visage of his helm retreated to reveal his human features.

"Double the guard at the gate when they leave" she said, "Heru-ur, my half-brother or not, cannot be trusted".

"Yes, my queen" he said, signalling a couple of the others to follow him as he left Bastet's throneroom.

OOC: I can run Bastet's character myself, but if anyone does want to take the role up of an 'Egyptian Goddess', then let me know.

OOC: I'm making this up as I go along... lemme know if it's a problem.

IC:

"Welcome to SG-6, Doctor Shaw. I'm Captain (dare she do it? will she? A marine captain named...???) Muffin Taggert." I said, proferring my hand. I looked the doctor over critically, wishing the Corps had the good sense to run these people through Boot before sending them to us.

Dismissing the Doctor for the moment, I turned to the General. "Sir. Supplying is accomplished. We are prepared to go as soon as the briefing is finished. Liberty is due to expire at 0400 hours, briefing at 0500 hours. My unit is all present or accounted for sir, we expect them in by 2200 hours."

"Good Captain. Take care of Doctor Shaw, see he gets what he needs."

"Yessir."

"Glad to have you on board Doctor. She may not look like much, but Captain Taggert is one of our best."

"Thank you sir." I said before the Doctor could respond. Did the General still have reservations about me? I was the first female officer to command a team. "If you will follow me Doctor Shaw, we will see to it that you are properly equipped and all of your gear is stowed on the FRED. If you have any questions, feel free to ask."

"Thank you, Captain Taggert" I said, "lead on, I'm still not overly familiar with the SGC layout".

I collected my small ammount of 'equipment', mostly books and a portable computer, and followed her to the Stargate room, where a small six-wheeled vehicle was loaded up with various cammy-green bags and other obviously military supplies. My gaze however was on the prominent feature of the room - the Stargate itself.

"When worlds collide" I murmured.

"Sorry, Doctor Shaw?" said the Captain.

"Hmm? Oh, nothing, Captain Taggert" I replied, "just thinking out loud - a habit of mine".

She nodded, and helped me fit my belongings in amongst the other equipment already stowed aboard the 'FRED'.

"How many, er, 'trips' have you made through the stargate?" I asked, "SG-6 is designated a reconnaisance/exploratory team, I believe. Sounds exciting".

Before she gave a reply, there was a grating sound. I turned to look back again at the Stargate. It was revolving.

"Incoming traveller" sounded a man's voice over the SGC speakers.

Captain Taggert pulled me back as a group of marines took position at the base of the walkway leading up to the portal, weapons at the ready.

"Whats happening?" I asked.

"Uninvited guests" she replied, pulling a pistol from a holster at her hip, "no GDO code was sent first".

As the seventh chevron locked in, a shimmering water-like field burst outwards, returning to settle like a rippling pool held vertically inside the Stargate.

I realised I was holding my breath. I had seen a few video clips of goa'uld jaffa bursting out of the portal before.

OOC: This is intended as an introductory point for Sadira/Fiara. RoseThorn, I'll have your Sarcophagus enter the Earth's atmosphere soon, OK? Trying to get everyone who's shown an interest an active part in the thread as quickly as I can manage. Dirk, I'll try and get to you on the first recon mission with SG-6. OK... so far, so good (fingers crossed).

Bastet

One of her Jaffa entered the throneroom, kneeling before her.

"We have captured some earth humans on Bubastis, your highness" he said.

She stood, smiling.

"Then we shall see these rebellious creatures for ourselves" she said.

OOC: One of the other SG teams (SG-10) has been captured. SG-6 will be sent on a rescue mission since it is the only team available presently in the SGC.

Rose Thorn / Brier

OOC: Ok, this seems to be fizzling out and I didn't the get the memo to stop so...If it's ok, Kepic (if it isn't I'll edit), I'm gonna go ahead and throw my character in and hope the thread revives :)

IC:
"Capt. Thorn didn't report today and he's not answering the phone, should I send someone out to check on him sir?" the secratary looked worried, with the stargate you couldn't be too careful, still...

"I'm sure he's just late, not everything is related to the stargate..." General Hammond said with a half smile.

"Very well, sir, there's also a call from Washington on line two, I said it would be a few minutes but he said he didn't mind the wait..."

General Hammond nodded and walked into his office.

"General Hammond speaking...Calm down sir I can't understand..." A pause.

"A thousand year old what? In a small space vehicle? That's immpossable. As you know the Stargate project has only been in operation..."

"None the less sir," the voice on the other end insisted.

"There are instruction in modern english carved on the sarcophagus. Your address and a notation to be taken to you and not to be opened until after today's date...We were hoping you could shed some light on the subject...."

OOC: Fine by me! I was hoping this thread had some life in it yet... was considering throwing some Bastet Jaffa through the gate anyway...

Three jaffa stepped through the stargate, their staff's held vertical, in a non-threatening gesture. The middle one's cat-like helm folded backwards.

"Hold your fire" said the Captain, the ranking officer on the scene.

"Wise" said the Jaffa, "For I bring a message from my queen, her eternal radiance, Bastet" he said, "She desires a meeting to discuss the terms of release for a group of your warriors captured invading her territory".

"Bastet... according to legend, she was a benificient egyptian goddess" I said quietly.

"So was Hathor" said the Captain, "but she almost turned the SGC into a goa'uld nest".

"We await your response on the planet of Bubastis" he said, pointing his staff back behind him. He touched his right gauntlet, and his helmet reformed.

They turned, and marched back through the stargate.

Just as the shimmering portal vanished, the General came into the chamber.

"Doctor Shaw, I would like you to take a look at something... we have just discovered a Goa'uld Sarcophagus, and in the absence of Dr Daniels, I'd like you to take a look at it, and see if you can decipher the hieroglyphs upon it. Captain Taggert, I'll have to put your team on standby given the current circumstances".

I followed him to another room, where the sarcophagus was led out on a raised platform. I looked over it carefully.

"Amazing" I said, "these heiroglyphs are unlike those goa'uld text I've seen in the computer... I'd almost say they were a more advanced form of script... as if its an offshoot of the current goa'uld writing on file that Daniel has translated..."

I moved round it, "Tok'ra" I said, pointing one portion, "aren't they supposed to be the friendly Goa'uld?"

General Hammond stepped over, "you are sure, Dr Shaw?"

"I can't be a hundred percent certain, I'm having to make some educated guesses over some portions of the script here..."

"I recieved a letter with the Sarcophagus... from one of our SG team Captains. They were found together, in an archaelogical dig" he said. He handed me a tablet, made from some dark metallic material. Although it was thin and light, it felt extremely tough. Inscribed upon it was a diagram of the sarcophagus - with english writing showing how to open it.

"The dig was at a level where the artifacts found should have been a thousand years old... yet that is in the handwriting of one of my officers".

"Inriguing" I said, touching the panels indicated on the diagram. Then, the goa'uld coffin began to open. The marines in the room leveled their weapons, as I and the General stepped back.

Rose Thorn / Brier

I blinked, feeling Briar's movement to wakefulness too. I looked down at myself as my mind caught up with me, I was dressed in a mixture of jeans and what looked like Egyptian clothing. Then I rembered. I feel tears gather in my eyes, it felt so...unreal.

*And yet it is...* Brier whispered as I sat up. And was met with a view of guns, I felt Brier panic a bit.

"Ummm..." I began hesitantly.

"I think I'm looking for a General Hammond?"

"I'm General Hammond... this is Dr Shaw" he responded, with a gesture to me, "who might you be?"

He obviously noticed the jeans as well.

"Levi's were certainly not around a thousand years ago" I said.

Rose Thorn / Brier

"I'm Rose, Rose Thorn, I'm Capt Thorn's daughter of SG-6?" I say hesitantly.

"And..." my voice changes, I feel Brier step forward.

"I am...Brier."

The young lady who introduced herself as Rose, suddenly called herself Brier as well. Her eyes glowed for a moment.

"Captain Thorn's daughter? And a goa'uld?" the General said, suddenly looking surprised and sounding worried at the same time.

"If the sarcophagus is any indication, general... a Tok'ra goa'uld" I said.

OOC: Color me a little confused. I'm going to run with newbie ignorance on this one, I assume I'm a new captain since her dad is the old captain. Or seomthing.

IC: The eyes shifted colors. Her eyes were one color one moment, then another color the next, right before she stated she was Brier also.

"Don't move." I said, my gun still trained on her left eye. This close, I couldn't miss. "I mean you no harm." She said faintly.

"Shut up and don't move." I remained firm. I flicked the safety off with my finger, prepared to fire.

OOC: Fine KM, lets say Captain Thorn was on leave, and you were his replacement. On leave, the device he unwittingly brought back with him shifted him forward in time...

Rose Thorn / Brier

OOC: Ok, I'm gonna reply to the General...

IC:

"umm...It's a sorta long story..." I say hesitantly, hugging myself.

"Does anyone mind if I get out of this thing?" I ask hesitantly.

Dr Shaw

OOC: The General is an 'NPC' - non-player character. Anyone can use him to continue the plot.

"Very well" said the General, waving the marines to lower their weapons. Captain Taggert looked hesitant, but did as ordered.

I stepped forward to and offered her my hand. She took it and I helped her out.

"Welcome to the SGC" said the General, "We're going to have to run you through some checks first, um, Miss Thorn... Captain, escort this young lady to see Dr Frasier in the infirmary. Dr Shaw, you haven't met Dr Frasier yet, perhaps you should go along".

Rose/ Brier

I nod hesitantly, hugging myself. This is all so...wierd. Brier gently sends me reassurance as we're taken to the doctor.

*Brier...This is like...a nightmare. Dad's gone, and I don't think I'd win a popularity contest here...*

*We can do nothing but move forward child, your father was a brave man. We can not let his death be in vain...*

I nod softly, straightening. I wonder if I should turn the weaponary over, but I feel Brier panic and decide to wait. Most of the jewelary he'd outfitted me with was a weapon of some sort. To him, as he'd made the weapons, it was comforting.

Walking along with the young lady, my weapon still *grimace* holstered, I kept my mouth shut. I was a competent marine, but this SGC stuff wasn't covered in OCS. Dr. Shaw had shown himself to be useful with the sarcophagus, reading things I could never hope to learn to decipher. Perhaps he wasn't quite the poag I'd thought he would be. Perhaps he was. Civilians.

Dr. Frasier looked up at us as we entered. I took an uneasy post by the door. As an officer guard duty wasn't in my job description, but I wanted to know more about this young woman, and this was the most unobtrusive method of information gathering. Even though I wasn't exactly the model of harmless passivity, I tried to make myself seem as non-combatant as possible, over by the door.

Rose/Brier

I move inside and let the doctor direct me to a table where she begins to test my heart rate, etc.

ooc: Not sure what to have the doc do...*shrugs*
