I don't have any of my medieval fantasy on the site. I usually just share it here and there. I just like the fun of it. More of chapter stories whereas my erotica is a story, and it is done.

I'm writing a part 2 now, but with most erotica I kinda prefer one and done. There are of course exceptions.

With inspiration and the help of an editor, I'd think it was like riding a bike. Do you play D&D? You could always set up a mock campain in your world. It's what I do when I've been away for a while.

We originally designed the world for D&D a long time ago. I just have to get my head working lol.

Oh that's cool! It's kinda how I got started. DM'd my first campain, and sort of got hooked

It is really alot of fun. Every part of our world is quite different, and they interact through the stories.

Worldbuilding either makes or breaks the story. I once read a novel in which the traveling times were wildly inconsistent (both compared to other travel times in it, and to what was in the landscape), annoying af.

If we take the entire map out it will cover my living room floor. We really want to get it made into a screen that we can pull down on the wall.

Travel times and such can be rough, you have to make it the same across the board.

And if takes 1-2 weeks walking, you won't make it back in 1-2 days riding. Horses aren't much faster than humans in the long run (unless you can change the horse as soon as it is tired of galloping - which is soon). A horse doesn't go much further in a day.

It is one of those things that a lot of people don't think about, they just want to move the story along.

There is a lot that can confuse the reader with fantasy. And it is easy to go offtrack.

One of the advantages of making your own world is you decide what resides where. You just have to make it make sense.

Agreed. I tend to create my enviroments first, then try to figure out what could live there and how. A people with animal traits/features, well why do animals have said traits/features. What would they eat, how would they interact socially. You could go days and days trying to get the details right and still mess up big time.
