OOC: Ok let's get this thing started. For those who might have missed my other thread the basic premise of this Star Wars thread would be after Return of the Jedi and happens at a rebel base. The story will follow the characters inside of the rebel base and there adventures through space and time. The characters will probably go on adventures if the thread gets popular enough and your characters could be a human, alien, jedi,or android. Hell if you want you can be a spy for the empire. On the suggestion of LukeX the planet that the rebel base is one will also be where an ancient temple is at so that we can have jedi knights in training involved alot in the story. So your character can be either a regular human or a jedi in training. So let's begin this.

Here's my character:

Name: Zen

Rank: Jedi Knight

Powers or Skills: Jedi Knight. Use's a traditional green light-sabre. Skilled in many forms of hand to hand combat. The force is strong with him. His psychic abilitys are stronger then the average jedi.

Physical Description: 23 years old. 6'1. Slim but Muscular. Short dark hair. Has a big claw mark across his chest. Clean shaved. Wears the traditional jedi uniform.

Background: His parents ran away from the Empire with him when they found out he could control the force. Got the claw mark across his chest from an alien that killed his family and almost killed him. He was saved by Yoda who then raised him when he realised he could control the force. Trained under his master Yoda. Zen is not his real name but is the alias that yoda gave him to protect his identity from the Empire. He doesnt know his real name. Had been in hiding during the original trilogy under orders from yoda. Yoda told him to stay in hiding due to his fear that the empire would kill or try to turn him if they discovered he could use the force. Joined the rebels after he discovered Yoda had died. Now swears to help destroy the last of the empire's forces to avenge his master.

IC: As I run the exercise course for the third time today I think to myself how things are different since the rebels defeated the Empire. I also think of how I should have been there to help. But I had to honor Master Yoda's wishes. I think to myself "Master Yoda...how I wish I could have been there with you during your final hours. Damn the Empire for all the pain they have caused me and those I care for!!!"

Just then a blast from a droid hits me in the shoulder! I grab my arm in pain as I roll out of the way. I curse myself for not paying attention as I bring out my lightsabre and lash out at the droid! With one slash down the middle the droid splits in two as I leap over it to take out the next two by using my Jedi powers to slam them into a nearby wall.

I run across the field as I see the goal just a few more feet ahead of me. Just then 4 battle droids appear out of nowhere and fire at me! I barely bring up my lightsabre in time to block the attack.
With quick reflexes I bounce one blast off of my lightsabre and back to one of the droids taking it out. I leaped up into a tree then use the force to make a huge boulder float over the droids.
When the boulder is right over them I drop it onto them! The boulder crushes two of them but there is still one left. I position my lightsabre in my hands and throw it right at the last droid like a arrow as the sabre crashes through the droids body! I then use the force to make the lightsabre fly back into my hands as I jump from the tree and reach the goal!

As I stand there catching my breath I hear a single clapping from my far left. I dont even need to look to know who it is "Hello Skywalker. How long have you been watching me?"

Luke walks to me and says "Long enough to see you get that laser blast from the droid. You were thinking about Master Yoda again werent you? You need to put him behind you during these dangerous types of exercises. You could have been seriously injured."

I turn to him "Look Luke I have alot of respect for you but dont get involved in my personal business ok?"

There was a calm quiet in the woods as we looked at each other waiting for the other to make the first move.

I broke the silence "Luke, I'm sorry it's just that...I should have been there for him."

Luke replied "I know how you feel Zen. Not a day goes by that I dont wish I was there for my Uncle and Aunt when the stormtroopers attacked my farm. But you have to learn to let it go and move on. You were only doing what Yoda told you to do by staying in hiding. Come on you look tired. You better go get some rest."

As we walked back to the rebel base I knew what was coming from him as he opened his mouth "You know Zen I could use your..."

I stoped him "Oh come on Luke we've had this discussion before."
He continued "Zen, you and I are the only known fully trained Jedi Knights in the galaxy. It's our duty to restart the Jedi's. I could use your help to train these students."

I was going to give him the usual 'I'm a warrior not a teacher' speech but stoped and thought about it for awhile. I turned to Luke and hesitantly said "I'll think about it."

We walked a little farther when I turned and asked "So how's Madison doing?"
Luke turned to me with a smile over his face "She's doing pretty good. Still talks about how great my sister Leia is and all that."
I laugh as I comment "That girl is realy something. Madison is one of the few of your students that didnt trust me when I arrived here and actualy still doesnt."

Luke looked at me "Well when you first arrived you did attack me remember?"

I turned to him "That was a misunderstanding. The only other Jedi that I knew existed at the time was working for the Empire so I had put 2 and 2 together."

We walk farther when I turn to him "And I would have beaten you too if it wasnt for Chewie hitting me in the back of the head with his blaster."

Luke gave me a 'yeah right' look as he finished "We can talk about it later. Right now I have to check on the students. I'll see you later."

As he turned and walked away I thought "Maybe I should help him teach the Jedi students. Well I could think about it later."

Right now I needed to get some rest as I turned around and walked into the place I called home: The Rebel Base.

Farlo Truan:

Character history:
Born on Coruscant, Farlo joined the Imperial Navy Cadets at an early age, intent on becoming a Tie pilot for the Imperium. The rebel alliance soon put an end to this dream, with their glorius victory. But, with the full scale of the Imperium's corruption and evil revealed to the galaxy, he quickly found another dream to follow - becoming a Jedi.
He was delighted to be accepted in the Jedi Academy - it seemed this dream might become a reality - and he has showed much latent talent in Jedi powers.
Farlo is quite talented in electronics and mechanics, and has over the last few months at the academy been putting together, from salvage imperial and rebel components, a ship of his own. It still has a lot of work to be done, but the vessel - a heavily modified imperial tie interceptor - which he has called the White Hawk, after the colour he has painted it and the Coruscant Hawk he loved as a boy - is already taking shape.
He has a companion droid, I6T9, an old imperial model with a female personality, with engineering, astronavigation, and piloting knowledge, which he saved from the imperial scrapheap in his cadet days, and, with the blessings of his superiors, was given to him. I6T9 is extremely loyal to Farlo, and can often be found with him in the hanger bay when he is working on the White Hawk or in his quarters, helping him to further hone his developing Jedi skills.
Physical description: lean, tall, dark haired, fair skinned, dark brown eyes, as typical for a human born to Coruscant. He would have made a quite handsome imperial officer, had the rebellion failed, though undoubtedly his manner would have become quite brusque and unforgiving if history had followed that path. He is remarkably agile and nimble fingered.
He has quite a sense of humour, and is not adverse to playing practical jokes on his fellow students, though most have gotten wise to his tricks, and often return the 'favour', but he is generally well liked, regardless of this, by most.
I6T9 description: a droid whose basic design is patterned after the human body, like a protocol droids (ala C3PO), though much thinner. Dark grey in colour. Eyes have a blue light. And no, 'she' hasn't got any additonal 'input slots', before you ask.

IC:
Farlo sat in the White Hawk's cockpit, listening to the chatter of the rebel pilots on the com system as they flew their own ships high above on a training mission. He wished he could be up there. The sooner the White Hawk was complete, the better.
"You know, I6T9, this ship is going to fly rings round any X-wing".
"Yes, Master Farlo" replied the droid.
"How are those shield generators going?"
"I've fixed the problems with the aft shield, replaced the inner coil with salvage from an Y-wing".
"Good... can concentrate on getting the engines on-line again, then" he said, wistfully. He longed to feel the kick of the White Hawk, on its first take off.
He looked down out of the cockpit, to see one of his fellow students waving at him...

Tawain Orsar

Tawain's parents were part of the Rebel alliance, and it was natural for him to follow their path--especially after his parents were killed in a battle with Vader's forces. First tests have revealed that he had a great potential, but he seems to have problems controlling it--sometimes it's there, sometimes it's not. That and being one of the youngest Jedi-in-training does not exactly make life easier for Tawain.

20 years old, shoulder-long black hair and blue eyes.

IC:
Tawain deactivated his blue laser saber and removed his helmet. The small traning sphere stopped in midair.
For hours now, he had tried to anticipate its movements wit the force, but it hadn't worked...

Madison Tenlar:

Physical: 19, 5'6, waist length red hair, violet eyes, slim, toned body

background: Orphaned. Was found by Leia's foster parents and raised to be a lady's maid. She is now Leia's assitant on the rebel base. Keeps records on all the Jedi students and does whatever Luke or Leia require her to do. Has no desire to learn the force, and is intimidated by and a little fearful of Zen, but he intrigues her. She avoids him at all costs. An ewok named Lana is her closest friend. She feels a kinship with Lana because they are both orphans.

IC:

She sat in her room finishing up on some work Leia had asked her to attend to. If she was honest with herself, she was hiding from Zen. When he was on the training field or somewhere other than the base, she worked at a small desk in the record room. But she had saw him coming back with Luke and had fled to her room.

A small furry head popped up from the side of her bed, interupting her thoughts. "Lana, someday you are going to scare the wits out of me." she gave her friend a small hug. Her intercom beeped.

"Tenlar speaking."

"It's Leia. I need you to come to the council room. Luke is calling a meeting for all the students and has asked that you be there. He wants you to bring the new training schedule with you."

"I'll be there with bells on."

"Ha ha."

Madison gathered her things, and silently prayed Zen wouldn't be there. He had no interest in training students, so why should he start now?

Farlo Truan

"Guess I'm wanted, I6T9, better go and see whats what" I said, moving to the elevator hatch, and stepping onto the platform, pressed the button nearby for descend.
As the platform was almost down on the hanger deck, I jumped off and went over to the other student, Hajal, if I remembered rightly. His training schedule was on a different pattern to mine, so we rarely met.
"Farlo" he said, "we're all wanted in the council room, there's some meeting we're supposed to attend".
"'K" I replied, and jogged after him, down the corridor, "any idea what its about?"
"Not yet" he said, "but I heard Luke called for it himself".
That sounded important. I'd only seen the famous Skywalker a couple of times.
Soon, we were at council chamber, and sitting ourselves down with the other students that were there or arriving.

Sha'ara Merexia

Description: Beginning her training at the Jedi Training Academy. She knows that it will be tough and she will have many struggles, but she is excited to learn everything, work hard, and possibly make friends with the other students. One of her idols is the great Leia Skywalker, leader of the rebellion. She can never hope to be as great as that, but maybe she could learn a thing or two from her? Sha'ara is 18, and has a small athletic body. 5'5", 115 lbs of muscle. Hard flat stomach, 34C breasts that are firm like the rest of her body. Long hair that is Auburn and blonde streaked, and turquoise eyes.

IC: I have just finished a rigorous day of exercises and am heading back to my room. I notice Zen and Luke Skywalker talking as they walk toward the rebel base and decide not to interrupt to say hello, as it looks like the topic is pretty serious. I pass by with neither of them seeing me and keep walking. I wonder if I'll run into Tawain. We are not close friends, but our parents all died together fighting in the rebel forces, so there are certain things we understand about each other. I think other than that he tolerates me because he likes the fact there is someone younger than him in training here. He treats me like a puppy, I'm great when he needs some attention and someone there to give him some praise and in return he gives me a pat on the head and says "Good girl" Oh well, I like him anyway, maybe someday when he actually sees that I have some talent in utilizing the force he will give me a little more respect. Until then I've always got Farlo to talk to. He actually treats me like a person. I know that he used to think he'd join the Imperial Army when he grew up, so we have opposing thoughts on a lot of things, but he's extremely intelligent and it's fun to mentally spar with him. It keeps my mind keen, which is important for the training I'm going to be undertaking. I know that the tough part hasn't even begun yet. He's lucky he knows so much about electronics, he had his lightsaber built in less than a day ... I'm still struggling with mine. I am much better with the physical aspect of things. I know once my lightsaber is finished I'll be good at handling it, but I get so frusterated working on it... my teachers keep bugging me to finish, so I supposed I should go directly back to my room and work on it now. I think I'll say hello to Farlo first though. Not only is he smart, he's gorgeous as well. Even here at the Jedi Training Academy I have trouble keeping my hormones in check.

I enter the hangar and wave to him. He waves back, but doesn't come down from the cockpit. I'm sure he's busy working on the White Hawk, but I'll only be there a moment. "How are you doing?" I call up to him. He smiles down at me and says he's allright. I want to show him something I've been practicing so I ask him to watch. He nods at me and watches as I bend forward and kick my feet up so I'm standing on my hands. "Big deal," he calls, "so you can do a handstand." Then I yell, "Just watch.." and I lift one hand so that I'm balancing on my right hand only. I only hold this pose for a moment, since I haven't completely mastered it, but I kick back onto my feet with a proud sheen on my face. Farlo laughs at me then, and says, "Great!! But, how's that lightsaber coming?" My smile fails me and I frown at him with fire in my eyes. "You would have to bring that up wouldn't you?!" I turn on my heel and march out of the hangar, as Farlo calls after me, "Hey Sha'ara! Anyone ever tell you, you're kinda sexy when you're angry?" This is followed by another throaty chuckle. I head immediately back to my room.

ooc

Erm, Indika, that was not exactly how I had pictured Tawain. I had rather thought of him as slightly secretive and shy, though with a good sense of humor.
I suppose I should have taken time to specify that it in my last post, but I was in a bit of a hurrry then...

OOC: Lightman

OOC: That is from Sha'ara's point of view of course. Maybe he views her in a different light, but comes across differently to her, because of his secretiveness and shyness. We can make what I wrote work for us either way, I'm sure. Sha'ara will just have to learn to trust Tawain, and realize that he's different than his image of her.

IC:

When I get back to my room there is a message on my door: "Meeting in the council room at 5" I look at the timepiece that I keep in my pocket and see I have but a few minutes. I take off at a sprint and make it there right on time.

Farlo Truan

Sha'ara almost skidded round the door into the chamber, and she glanced about, letting a sigh escape her lips.
"Hey, don't worry" I said, patting a free space beside me, "it hasn't started yet-"

"Almost late!" I think as I pretty much skid through the door. There's Farlo sitting there smirking at me, "Don't worry, it hasn't started yet - " he pats the seat next to him. Great, I think, it'll be easy to concentrate on the meeting with HIM sitting next to me. I sigh and take the seat he's offered.

Tawain

ooc: ok, sorry for my critiscism(God knows I try to keep it down ;) )
ic:
Just as he is putting his helmet back on, Tawain suddenly notices the message on his screen.
Muttering about bad timing and returning his laser sabre to his belt, he runs out of the door. Just outside the door, he collided with Sha'ara. Murmuring an apology, he quickly turned and made for the council room. Bein near Sha'ara always made him feel...well, uneasy wasn't exactly the word, it was more like...confusion maybe, he never knew where to look when she was around--
Tawain shook his head violently and forced himself to think about the matter at hand. Why should a great meeting be called, and why so suddenly?
His surprise grew as he saw who was head of the meeting. Luke Skywalker himself! There was something grave to be discussed or announced, apparently. Inclining his head in greeting--and not taking his eyes off his idol, Skywalker--he sat down in a free chair.

OOC: That's okay, I didn't take it as criticism.

IC: As I sit there next to Farlo, I think about my brief meeting outside the door with Tawain. I never know what to say to him, since I feel like I'm in his way all the time. Always other things on his mind I guess, since he refuses to look me in the eye. When I finally let my gaze go to the front of the room, I notice that the meeting is being headed by Luke Skywalker and wonder what could be so important the HE would call a meeting. Must be bad news I think as the meeting is called to order.

(OOC: Luke and Leia are almost such a large part of the story that someone should take their roles, but then again maybe not? I don't know!!)

Zen

As Zen stayed hiden in the shadows of the room he watched the meeting with great interest. Once everybody was counted for Luke and Leia entered the room to a huge cheer from the students and staff.

Leia stood infront of everyone as she spoke "Thank you for that welcome but I'm afraid that what I have to report is anything but welcomed news. We have received reports that a new Death Star has been built by the remains of the Empire."

Now these got my attention as well as the others as a grim silence took over all in attendance. Leia continued "Now the good news is that the Death Star is much smaller then the last one's were so our ships were able to damage it enough before it got away. However the Death Star was able to cripple all of our main bases except this one and now it is heading our way. Now let me turn it over to my brother Luke Skywalker."

This was big news. Luke took the stand and continued "Now the Death Star isnt expected to reach us for at least two or three days. And I'm afraid that it will be up to us to stop the Death Star."

He paused and I knew what was coming "I'm afraid that I will have ask my students to join in the battle."

This set up a lot of whispering among the cadets. Luke continued "Quite please. I know that your training isnt complete but you're exercises will be steped up for the next few days to help prepare your the best I can. I promise to do my best to prepare you for what is coming."

I stood there for a few moments before I steped out of the shadows "Excuse me sir?" All eyes turned to me as I approached Luke and Leia. I continued "Luke if you'd approve of it I'd like to help you train the cadets for the upcoming battle."

I could tell everyone, especialy Tenlar, was surprised as I offered my hand to Luke.

Luke looked stuned at first too but then finished "I'd be more then happy to except your help Zen." as he accepted my offer.

Leia then took the stand again "That will be all for now. I suggest you all get some rest for tomorrow we must prepare for the worst."

With that the meeting ended as everyone left to think about what had been said.

Tawain

Tawain sat still for some hours after the others had left. Only then did he slowly make his way back to his room. A new attack from the Empire, so soon! Despite the death of the emperor!
And he would be in a battle tomorrow. Only some hours ago he had undergone all the private training exercises he could think off, and never even felt the force. And now...
he held out his hand, and his laser sabre flew into it from his belt.
Tawain shook his head. He had been told his potential was great, but it seemed to do what it wanted. This might be only annoying in the course of his training, but in a battle, it might be lethal.
Tawain sat down on his bed, knowing that he would not be able to sleep this night.

Zen

After I planed out the exercises for tomorrow with Luke and Leia I left to get some needed rest. All this time I had tried to stay out of getting into this type of situation and now I steped right into it myself.

As I walked back to my room I saw Madison Tenlar walking to her room with her companion Lana. She had always kept her distance from me in the past. She was a very beautiful woman.

I watched her walking away as she suddenly slipped on the wet floor and fell down! I ran up to her quickly as I helped her up and asked "Are you ok?"

She began to answer as she turned to me "I'm ok thanks for helping..." When she saw it was me she stoped talking and I could tell she felt uneasy.

I looked into her eyes for a moment then said "Let me help you with that." I picked up her papers and handed them to her.

"Well, I'll see you around Tenlar." I told her as I turned and walked off to my room.

Madison:

She watched his back as he walked away from her. She couldn't help the fact that she was uneasy around him. He was so strong in the force, and the force made her uneasy.

"Madison."

She turned and saw Leia and Luke coming toward her. She smiled at them, but it faded when she saw the serious looks on their faces. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing yet. You know how this base better than anyone. You know it's weak points, and the lay of the system we are in. Luke and I have discussed this and we want you to work with Zen and help plan out defenses necessary that will give us an advantage over the death star. Can you do it?"

Her face paled at the thought of working closely with Zen. "I can do it."

"Good. Report to the control room tomorrow morning. Bring any maps or records you feel might help."

"Sure." Her voice was a little croak, but Leia and Luke had already turned away to go.

Zen

As I prepared for bed I thought back at how much Madison Tenlar looked uneasy around me. Ever since I've been here she has always been distant from him despite how much I tried to be nice to her. I hoped we could work well tomorrow when we go over the bases defenses together.

Other then Luke and Leia there were only a few people that werent uneasy around me at the base.

As I laid down to sleep I think of how much I wish Master Yoda was still here. Now with the last of Empire preparing for a final battle we could realy use his guidence.

I lay down on the bed as I slowly close my eyes and fall asleep.

With the news of the new Death Star I finally found the motivation to complete my light saber. I stayed up half the night to complete it. I made mine green like most Jedi and it glowed brilliantly when I tried it out.

Now at half past midnight, I found myself in the hallway outside Tawain's room. I figured he was probably asleep, but considering the news and the fact we both lost our parents to the rebel fight, he was the person I needed to talk to right now.

I knocked on the door, waited, and was about to turn away when I heard movement inside. *shhh* The door slid open easily. I knew he'd been in bed because his hair was unkempt and he didn't have his robe on over his shirt and pants. But, wordlessly he stepped aside and allowed me to enter. He looked at me for a moment and then spoke, "Sha'ara ... what are you doing here this time of night? You should be resting." My eyebrows twitched, was that concern I heard in his voice. I began pacing, "Who can rest now? You heard the news." He looked at his bed and confessed, "I've been tossing and turning all night."

I turned to him and with a conviction I'd never felt before I said to Tawain, "Our parents died for the rebel cause, because of the Emporer and all he stood for." He looked at me expectantly waiting for me to continue. "Tomorrow, I'm going to put forth every effort, all of my soul into being the best fighter I can be, so that when they send me out to fight, I'll honor the memory of my parents.. your parents. I'm willing to die for it... Are you?" I looked at him intently waiting for him to respond.

Tawain

Tawain stared into Sha'ara's eyes for a moment, then abruptly turned and looked out of the window into the dark night. After a while he spoke.
"You know, I've never really believed in a no-win situation. I always thought there is another way, although sometimes you can't see it. I know that I will do anything I can tomorrow to stay alive, but...yes, I will fight. as good as I can. If that means dying for it...well, I guess it would not be the worst way to die."
Suddenly, he barked a humorless laugh, and when he spoke again, it was with a somber tone...no one had ever heard him speak like that.
"The odds are that I'll die anyway, but uselessly, without being able to do anything before I die. I'll probably go charging right ahead, knocking the imperial forces down with the force--and suddenly it'll be gone again. Probably just when I'm in the middle of a stormtrooper group, and then zap! Exit Tawain the incompetent would-be Jedai. I hope there's no afterlife, I don't think I could stand the shame of meeting my parents..."

After hearing what Tawain had to say, I suddenly feel this urge to touch him. I look at him tenderly and say, "You aren't incompetent Tawain, and I'm sure your parents would never feel shame for you. You are more in tune with the force than anyone else here, you just need to confidence to use it. That's why you feel it's out of your control, because you won't allow yourself control it." He continues to look at his feet so I walk over to him and take his face in my hands forcing him to look at me. "Why won't you look at me Tawain? I am a human being. Is it so hard, just to look me in the eye??"

Tawain

"It's not that, it's just...oh i don't know. This strange thing with the force...that it keeps flicking on and off for me...well, Luke and all the others said it was strange, but I always thought that it was due to my lack of experiance, that it was because I was the youngest...but then you came, and in two days mastered all the principles, and after another week you were as good as most here...and I did not have an excuse any longer. I suppose I could lift a stone higher than you, but at least you could keep it in the air for some time, knowing that it wouldn't suddenly drop on you because your control of the force just...slipped away."
Tawain shook his head and sat down on the bed.
"No. That's not all there is to it. It's part of it, but there's something else...and I'm damned if I know what it is."

I lean against Tawain's desk, thinking. "I don't know what to tell you Tawain, I still think maybe you aren't giving yourself a chance. I can tell you one thing, I'm always here if you need someone to talk to." Tawain eyes me skeptically from his bed and I continue, "I mean it.. don't just brush me off... I am seriously here for you, day or night, if you need a shoulder, or if you need someone to rant to." I walk over and sit next to him, "Let me be your friend Tawain."

Tawain eyed her for a moment, then laughed and threw his arm around her.
"Of course you're my friend. Tell you what, we'll make a deal for tomorrow. We fight good enough to make our parents proud, wherever they are, and we both stay alive. ok?"

Sha'ara

Suddenly Tawain throws his arms around me and is telling me that I'm his friend. I look at him dumbfounded for a moment before I realize that he's saying something about tomorrow... "We fight good enough to make our parents proud, wherever they are, and we both stay alive. ok?" I grin at him, and say "That is a deal!" I think I may be pushing our new friendship too far, but decide to give him a big hug to seal the deal anyway. I pull away and say, "Thanks for talking to me."
