This is an idea for an ORP set in the Star Wars Universe.
The time period is some years after the story as it takes place in Return of the Jedi. If you have read the books, this time frame would approximate around the end of the Hand of Thrawn books, but before the invasion of the Yuuzhan Vong in the New Jedi Order series.
However, the above description is simply to set up the people and places, as the story itself will be exclusive of any of the canon story lines. The New Republic is in full swing, having been so for a few years. Leia has finished her tenure as Chief of State, and now serves in an advisory/ambassador capacity, along with her husband, Han Solo.
Luke Skywalker, whom I will write as, is actively recruiting and training new Jedi to fill the ever-growing need for them across the New Republic. He is assisted by Kyle Katarn.
These are just a few of the characters in this story. Chewbacca, C3PO, R2D2, Lando Calrissian, Boba Fett, and any of the others you can think of from the Star Wars Universe as described in this setting are available. Or, you can always come up with your own.
Please be mindful if you are creating your own character to stay within the parameters of Star Wars character creation. In other words, if you come up with a bounty hunter/mercenary type, keep their gear and weapons specific to their lifestyle, and their ships dirty and constantly repairing. We know all Jedi use a lightsaber, and sometimes a blaster, but Jedi are warriors, not soldiers (although they may have formally been). Nor are they super-rich lords of a Tibanna gas mining estate (although they may have been once but left this life to learn the ways of the Force).
Please post your character ideas or PM me. It is not necessary to post a bio for canon characters: a link to their wookipedia (or other Star Wars reference database is all that is needed).
Be mindful the Star Wars Universe is a complex place, so be prepared to write in-depth posts for your character. The descriptions of a space battle involving capital ships and starfighters require attention to detail, so I will need your help in describing these events.
Evil characters are welcome as well, and yes, the Sith can be included in this story line. If, however, you choose to play a Dark Jedi or a Sith Lord, please PM me first, as this is something that shouldn't be revealed to other players until the story has progressed sufficiently.
I hope there is sufficient interest for this as I have what I believe to be an intriguing and fun story line to develop with the right players.
