Irina fought back a sigh and a grimace that would do nothing but start the day on the wrong foot. But a day of learning what being a Jedi was all about from someone who hated her instead of spending time with Ramza . . . blech. "I look forward to your instruction, Master," she said softly, trying to hide her dread at the idea.
Tugging her hair up into a bun, she turned to Ramza and hugged him tightly. "I'll see you later, love." Pressing her lips to his, Irina tightened her arms for a second, then released him. "Ready when you are, Master Jedi." She bowed slightly.
As they arranged themselves in a small room, Jakara looking stately and Irina looking for all the worlds like a rebellious teenager, neither of them was willing to look at the other. Until, finally, the older woman rubbed her hands briskly over her legs. "Well. I suppose that the sooner we begin, the sooner we can both go about our business."
Irina's answering smile was small. "True enough. So what's on our agenda for today?"
"Philosophy."
"Oh, wonderful."
"I'll ignore that. Now, the fundamental principles of being a Jedi Knight are . . . ."
