Rysk Mailan stared through the plasteel windows of the cantina, "Lone Spacer." There had to be something, or somebody, to do on Dantooine. It was just a matter of where to look. Rysk's senses told him there was some high sexuality in this establishment.

Rysk stood 5'8" tall, with jet black, spiked hair and ice blue eyes. His frame was muscular, a testament to the rigorous workouts he put it through daily. He was adorned all in black, a Jedi robe hanging off of his shoulders, and a lightsabre of his own design hung from his belt.

Rysk sipped idly at his drink taking no notice of the various species of aliens mingling and inter-mixing. Frankly, he was not what one would call a socialite. He was a buisnessman, and given the proper motivation, he could become whatever was necessary.

----------------------
OOC NOTE: Rysk is a character I've developed on my own time. I've started writing a novel about him ... but thus far, nothing really substantial has come of it. I hope others are interested in the 'other' side of Star Wars and decide to give this thread a try! Look forward to playin' with you all!

I'll Play

Siobhan---5'4 strawberry-blonde, deep hazel/green eyes, 34c. She always looked very delicate, like someone could break her in two, but she had a strength about her. Perhaps a force? She always loved to fight, and the grace of a lightsabre. She always hated it when people, especially men told her she couldn't help out with the rebel forces. Her father tought her almost everything she knew. After the dark side killed her father, (he's not a darth vader or anything her really is dead), she relied on Rysk for help. He tought her everything else she knows. How to fly a ship, and how to fight with a lightsabre.

Let the games begin...

Rysk smiled to himself as Siobhan strode through the doors of the "Lone Spacer." His eyes traced up her leg to her hip where the lightsabre she had constructed hung. He reached out to her with his mind, beckoning her closer.

"It's good to see you," he thought, the words forming themselves in her mind.

She smiled softly back at him, dimples forming in her cheeks. "And it's good to see you as well ..." Siobhan parted her way through the crowd of various races before finally pulling out a chair to sit next to him.

OOC: Hi. I'd like to join as Eceer Alleirba, a 29 year-old female smuggler. I'm 5'10, 130 lbs, athletic build, long black hair, steel blue eyes.

IC: I walk into the cantina on Dantooine, peering through the haze. There aren't many patrons here tonight. I see a couple, one dressed in a black jedi robe sitting at a table. I order a Kessel Mindblaster and sit at the table next to them, hoping to overhear anything that might lead to a new job. My ship, although adequate, needed some overhauling and modifications, and I was getting dangerously low on credits.

OOC: May I?
Bal Xzoden, dark blue skin, orange hair, golden eyes, 6'5, 180 lbs, a lower class mechanic/racer.

IC: I sat in my regular bar stool, sipping my regular drink, after a regular day of putting together engines. My greasy shirt, strap-on goggles, and dirty face gave away what I did for a living. It wasn't a well paying job, maybe 2 or 3 customers a day, and the racing was basically suicide. I hoped that someday I'd win and get enough credits to buy a starship and do some planet hopping. But it didn't look like that was going to happen. I sighed as the buzz from my drink began to kick in. I needed some adventure in my life, something exciting to happen, everything was just so...dull.

I took a look around the room, 2 people in a corner, a guy dressed in a Jedi robe and a girl sitting next to him. Then, what looked like, a typical bounty hunter sitting in the booth next to them. Jedis weren't really that much for bars, I wondered what he was doing there. Oh well, wasn't any of my business...

OOC: Tammara, 5'2", burgandy hair, deep blue eyes. 25yo

As i made my way down the crowded street, I could feel eyes and minds upon me. I had to be gone from this place, and fast. The information I now carried could cost me more than my life, it could cause a riot. Why did i have to listen into my father meeting? Why did i have to be so damn nosey? They knew some one had over heard them, and it was only a matter of time before the worked out who it was. I had managed to catch a ride to Dantooine in a cargo ship, but I knew I would not be safe here long. I found myself in the doorway of a tavern, and wrapping my cloak tightly about myself, I stepped into it's shadowy deapths.

Averting my eyes from all who might notice me, i take a seat at the bar and order a drink to settle my nerves. I needed to think of something, and fast. Not only was my life at risk now, but the lives of millions.

OOC: I hope this can get things moving for you a little. :)

Rysk

Rysk delighted in the company of his female companion. Their drinks disappeared slowly enjoying each other's company Mailan Enterprises was thriving on Dantooine and he was looking to expand his partnership a bit. Some of his dealings were less than legal, but if the New Republic was willing to turn a blind eye, he would continue.

He glanced casually to his side, noticing a female, wearing obvious spacer gear. She had a mystic look about her ... there was something hidden deep in her eyes. He probed at her mind carefully, trying to figure out a reason she was here. He grinned to Siobhan, "Do we have a crew for that drop in the outer rim yet?"

===========
OOC: Thanks for the interest guys. Wasn't sure how well this'd fly ... but I look forward to seeing everybody's "interaction."

Tammara

As i sipped my drink, my mind filled with ideas that came to no logical conclusion, i could feel the jedi probing my mind. Throwing up my defences, i blocked him from my thoughts. That was no way for a jedi to behave, probing a mind without permission, but then, these were uneasy times, and nothing is as it once was. Turning, I locked eyes with him for just a moment, then looked away, and unesy feeling growing in the pit on my stomoch.

I was wearing my typical garb, a tight fitting flight suit, designed to display my 36d-26-36 figure. I usually found it distracted most people, human or otherwise, male or female. I heard the jedi ask his companion if they'd found a crew for a drop or something like that. I listened a little more intently, hoping to catch some details, maybe jumping in to make an offer.

Rysk

The Jedi held his glass up to his lips taking a small drink before speaking. "That venture could be very profitable. I only hope that crew is up for the venture."

Siobhan drew in a deep breath. "They will be M'Lord."

Rysk grinned, his eyes now small slits. "I should hope so. It isn't without its dangers, after all."

Rysk continued to survey the bar scene casually, making eye contact with those he felt could be of particular use in his business venture. Of particular note to him was the woman sitting at the table beside him, and Siobahn. She was lovely, but he preferred generally to keep business and pleasure separate. Although it was not unheard of for Rysk to mix the two on occasion.

The other notable was a blue skinned male. The man was filthy. A tech no doubt. He could be very well compensated as a part of Rysk's tech yard. Perhaps, after his drink was finished, he would have to conduct a business proposition.

Ooc: can we get a time period of this? Before... after, during... a little something to go on.

"That's the last of them," Ronag said, picking up the sack. It was filled with delila herbs, that would make a pretty profit on just about any planet. He placed the final pile in the back of the X wing.
"R2, where's the nearest planet that we can sell these."
He heard bumps and clicks from the r2 unit. Strapping himself into the pilot's seat, he saw the answer.
"Dantooine? That's full of nothing but thieves and rogues, there's gotta be something else not too far away."
A negative bleep erupted from the unit. Ronag's hands backed off of the instrument panel apologetically.
"All right, all right, I didn't know you liked the place so much. Ok, we'll go," he punched in a few numbers. The engine roared to life.
It was a fiarly big engine, especially for such a small ship. It had taken him three years to put a ship together, putting a corillean freighter's engine into an old republic fighter wasn't as easy as it sounds.
He had nightmares of the ship tearing apart right in the middle of space. There had been times when that actually came close to happening, but Ronag knew a thing or two about engines, and ships for that matter.
Out of the planet's atmosphere, Ronag could finally put his feet up. He relaxed, having the r2 put in the coordinates and everything. He hadn't slept in days, and felt now was the right time. Delila herb was very rare, and very tough to get. That's why it was so expensive, and he the entire back of the ship full of them. With this money, and the other he had saved up, he could finally buy a decent ship, and relax somewhere away from this galaxy.
He might even go exploring, hell who knows. All that mattered right now was sleep. And it came.

Siobhan

I looked around to room to see what Rysk was looking at. I noticed a few people that he glanced at. The crew wasn't coming along very well, and I'm guessing he has some Ideas.

"I see you found some people your intrested in." I said raising up one eyebrow.

Rysk

OOC: I have never been able to pinpoint a timeframe. It's after the trilogy and probably before the Jedi Academy trilogy if that helps. At any rate about 5-7 years after the first trilogy.
==========================

Rysk smiled at Siobhan. "Perhaps," he said. His voice then filled her mind. "But we shall let them come to us first."

Rysk smiled at Siobhan. "I trust your trip was a pleasant one?" he said, steepling his fingers in front of his face.

Siobhan

"It was fair." I replied filling his head with my thought. "Not much was done, most of the crew was killed by bounty hunters. It seems they're stirring up again. I also felt a very uneasy feeling within me as I passed some ships, but that didn't last too long. It seems whoever is on there wants something."

I studies Rysk's face. I can never tell much from it. I drew circles on the table with my fingers. I looked around the room again, stopping at the "selected ones" Rysk wanted for the crew.

Rysk

OOC: Forgot to mention this. If you'd like to read the first chapter of the novel I've written, it can be seen here: http://www.crosswinds.net/~awolff/oblivion.htm
================================

"Did you manage to maintain assets? You are a skilled Jedi. I would hope this venture wasn't more of a gamble than I had intended."

His gaze met hers firmly. Still his face held no sign of emotions. His mind was a raging torrent of emotions but he kept those closely shielded, especially from other Force users.

Siobhan

"there was a block I couldn't get any. You know my skills aren't fully developed yet." I said looking him straight in the eye.

"I can tell you that it was in the area of the planet Atooine, if you want to set a mission over there. The ships I saw though, reminded me of old imperial star ships. On the dark side, that might be the uneasy feeling I had."

Rysk

"Those ships you saw were most likely Imperial refits beloning to a ragtag band of pirates or maybe even to the bounty hunters themselves. It's not uncommon for a guild of Bounty hunters to use star fighters."

Siobhan nodded. Her smile was grim.

"I will arrange an expedition to Atooine this evening. I'm sure the boys* would be more than happy to 'volunteer' for this mission. But I need you here. Business warrants your staying this time around. Besides, you could use the extra time planet side to develop your skills further."

Again Siobhan nodded.

====================
OOC:
Note*: "The Boys" are a group of Mercenaries whom Rysk has hired to perform his less scrupulous tasks. Made of up 9 members, of various races, they are well worth the price paid them.

The X wing touched down on a small platform. Ronag quickly got out, grabbing a huge cart. He filled up the cart with sack upon sack of delila herb. Once it was all gone, he went to the nearest market.
Twenty minutes of heated arguement and Ronag was 5 million credits richer. He felt a swell of pride coming back from his procedure.
It took over two years. Living from planet to planet, eating horrible things, and drinking even worse. He shook that from his head though, now he would live on easy street.
The first thing he saw outside of the trading post was a bar. Usually he didn't even think of going into places like that, especially on this planet, but he was feeling in such a good mood, that he went in anyway.
Inside he could see people well on their way to getting drunk. A few waved to him friendly, he knew he didn't know them, but he waved back.
Going up to the bar he looked at the assortment of glasses.
"You wouldn't happen to have any Hoth water, do you?"
The tender squinted his eyes slightly.
"I guess not," he bit his tongue. This wasn't going as well as he had thought, "Well, how about just a usual."
A weird brown drink was placed in front of him. Ronag's mouth dropped slightly. This was the usual? He sipped it, warningly. It tasted hard, and was very potent, but it wasn't that bad actually. He took another sip.
Good times. Money in his pocket, and only his dreams to guide him, what could possibly go wrong?

Rysk

Rysk continued surveying the scene of the bar indifferently. Conversation between him and Siobhan had died down, but then again, words weren't necessary. He placed his hand on her knee as he patted and rubbed it.

Rysk's drink was now empty. He noted the spacer next to his table's drink was nearing completion as well. The look on her face showed a curiousity. Hopefully he had hooked her with mention of this drop. There was definitely a risk involved, but the reward would be more than adequate.

Looking to the blue skinned man, standing at the bar, he reached out with his mind. Rysk created the urge for him to join Rysk and Siobhan at their table.

He smiled as the door opened. A man wearing an orange flight suit stepped into the bar. His garb was typically associated to that of an X-wing Pilot. No doubt his fighter was stationed somewhere planet side. Rysk rubbed his thumb and index finger along his chin.

So much potential in this bar to expand his vast trading empire...

=============
OOC: I hope that others start posting again. I've got a great idea for a plot, but I'm waiting for characters to approach Rysk ... Would be really cool if we could get this developed into a hopping Star Wars bar scene, where characters can come and go as they please.

And, after the thread gets started and developed more thoroghly, we will be able to use characters names and have them known. I'm excited guys. I hope you are too ...

I looked down at his hand and back up at his face. He was reaching someone I could tell by the crinkle on his forehead. I took my fingers and gently rubbed his hand.

I looked at the pilot that just walked in. He sat down at the bar, and got a drink. X-wing I supposed. I studied him carefully. He didn't look like the type that comes here often. He must have gotten a good trade for something, if anything.

Rysk

Rysk returned his attentions to Siobhan. She was quite lovely. Her auburn hair glinted in the light. He felt her hand touch his, and he looked at her smiling softly.

It was one of the few times he actually let emotion cross his face. Generally it wasn't a good idea for business practices.

"Would you like another drink Siobhan?"

Cale

Cale walked away from his ship, The Silver Saber and looked around the spaceport that he had landed at. He didn't really want to be here but the Saber had decided to play up once again and had blown a main ion drive coupler which made it impossible for him to go anywhere. He walked away from the Saber and towards the town, if that is what they called it to find someone to fix his ship. This was not going to be pleasant or easy.

The first place he walked into he saw a person he didn't expect, someone he did not really want to see.
"Darkin Ross, what are you doing here."
"Ah, Cale- my friend. I am here running this shop. What are you doing here?"
"My ship is busted and I need a part for her, I was wondering if you know of anyone who has a ion drive coupler."
Darkin's face broke into a smile and he said, "Ahhhh.... I know of a person who has one for sale but it will take a while for him to get it- maybe a day or two."
"A day or two.... but I need to get this stuff off this planet now!"
"It is the best I can do Cale and I know that I am the only one that you can get a coupler from."
Cale looked at Darkin and knew that he was right then turned and walked out of the shop. Before he left he said, "When you get the part tell me and I will come and pick it up."

Cale walked away from the shop and the first thing that he thought of was that he needed a drink. He then saw a bar and walked into it, noticing that everyone there looked at him when he came in. He said nothing, just walked to a booth and sat down.

Eceer Elleirba

I looked at the two jedi at the table next to me. They certainly had my curiosity piqued. I decided to move in.

"I couldn't help overhearing your conversation. Forgive me, I wasn't eavesdropping. I have an available ship for whatever it is you need moved." I noticed my drink was almost empty. Damn, the service in these places left a lot to be desired. I glared at the bartender.

I just nodded and looked over at the woman who just came over. Rysk was looking at her occationaly and I guess he wanted her for our crew. I looked at Rysk, he lead all of the missions, so it was his call.

Eceer Elleirba

I looked at the two jedi. The woman's robe was modest, but it still showed a little bit of her nice figure. Then man looked to be in incredible shape. The bartender finally brought me another drink.
