I made a mistake in voting -- I thought one had to click on each star until the desired number was reached, but after I pressed on the first (without rolling over it to see that one star means "I Hated It", I was done! One star only! I only care about how to revise (which I am not being permitted to do) because the author's star average is being adversely impacted. HELP! HOW DO I CHANGE MY VOTE TO A HIGHER NUMBER OF STARS?

You might try emptying your cache, logging back in (or not) and voting again. I don't know if it will work, though. Lit has a program intended to sweep away fraudulent votes from time to time, and while no one knows exactly how it works, I believe one of the things it looks for is multiple votes from a single IP address. If you clear your cache and vote again, chances are one of the votes will eventually get swept away, though I don't think there's any way of knowing which one it will be.

If I might make a suggestion, most likely the author would welcome receiving a feedback message from you. If you explain what happened and let him or her how much you enjoyed their story, I bet that would more than offset a single 1-vote cast in error.

An excellent suggestion, starscape, thank you. Unfortunately, it didn't work, but I tried.
