Star Trek uses a 24 hour military time standard but . . .

what time zone is it set to? what planet even?

Earth.
since starfleet headquarters is on earth time set to earth time in San fransisco.

Most likely it is GMT time zone (Greenwich Mean time) which is 0:00hrs and all other time zones are either plus(+) or minus (-) GMT. (I hate being Smart!):)

Something weird

Since we are talking about time, did you know that without the days and nights to keeps us straight our bodies would keep a 25 hour day? Something nifty that I just found out. :)

All the StarFleet ships are kept to Pacific Time, and lower the wattage of all onboard lights at "night" to simulate the day/night cycle of Earth.

I need to watch more Monday Night Football...

I don't know...........

I tend to agree that the time would (should) be in line with Star Fleet HQ in San Francisco. However, I believe I read or heard somewhere that "stardate and time" were tied in to the date and time Cochran(?) developed warp and made first contact. If so, that would make it mountain time.

I just know I love the different "Star Trek" series. My favorites are Voyager and Enterprise.

Dammit Spock! I'm a Lit member, not Stephen Hawkings!

*I think twenty-four hour chronology is a Universal time reference. In the force, we referenced the time as local in our area, all other time was "Zulu". It's the freakin' stardate that gets to me!
