I am looking for either a one-on-one or a group story about a team of fourth-year cadets at Starfleet Academy who are preparing to embark on a six-week training cruise prior to their graduation. Shortly after departing, the Dominion War breaks out, and our characters get a crash course in live combat. Ship battles, phaser skirmishes, hostage situations, prisoners of war, etc. all await them. Eventually they make it back to the Academy and officially receive their commissions as Starfleet Officers.
From here, the story can go many ways. We can take a more action-heavy approach and be on the frontlines of the war, or focus more on romance and relationships and have our characters either providing relief aid or in some sort of research and development role. I'm open to suggestions.
