This is an OOC thread for the story-line BATTLE FOR THE WINDS. She was a pirates brat she was born to a tavern wench whose mother worked at the castle. Her father had been traveling through the country when he came across her mother the bright red head and the sparkling green eyes turned his head and you stayed for a few months and they romped and played and fucked. When she was two years old her mother died and she was sent to live with her grandmother who worked in the castle for the Spanish king. During this time she became playmate to the youngest Princess and she was given appropriate clothing and also allowed to attend the classes that the Princess did. Even though she was of low birth the Princess had fallen in love with her and begged her father to allow her to stay.

When Kalinda turned 6 she met her father for the first time, he had shown up at the Tavern where her mother had worked and when he couldn't find her there they directed him to the castle. And after bribing a few of the guards he found out that she was living amongst the princesses as a companion. He found her grandmother working in the kitchens, and told her that if she was ever to have need he should contact her and told her the ship name. He soon left only glimpsing Kalinda from afar.

When Kalinda turned 10 her grandmother took ill and soon passed away Kalinda was devastated by the loss of her grandmother and even though she was a companion to a Princess she was forced to leave the castle since she had no one to take care of her. Taking her grandmother's belongings she began to rummage through them and found an old letter from her father to her grandmother asking questions about her throughout her life. She decided to go in search of her father and soon found his ship docked.

Bravely she walked up the gangplank carrying her belongings in a sack and asked for her father. She was shuffled off the gangplank and told to get back on the dock she kicked the man who was handling her roughly and ran back up the gangplank to the ship and screamed for her father to come out to her. The captain of the Scarlett Witch walked out onto the deck of the ship and eyed her as if she were a street urchin until he stepped closer and saw her eyes. They were her mother's eyes and he knew her to his daughter.

Personality/Quirks: She can hold her own against the best of them, whether it be at a court Salon or on the docks and pubs. She likes romantic encounters and has no problem with a little violence or manipulation to get her way. She can be very stubborn and intense.

Izzie is the youngest daughter of the royal family, having 2 older sisters and 3 brothers. Her older sisters have already been married off to foreign royalty, as has one of her brothers.

Growing up she had many companions, from the local aristocracy to some of the less well-to-do locals. She would often sneak out of the palace in disguise to explore and have her own fun. The childhood playmate that meant the most to her was Kalinda. When they were younger, they both grew up in the castle, sharing lessons and playing together. As they grew older, they grew apart in distance, but not in affection. Kallie had gone off to search for her father after her grandmother passed on and would occasionally make it back into the port and come visit.

As they were growing up, they experimented with all sorts of things from alcohol, boys, gambling, and each other, among other things.

As our story starts out, Izzie has sent a message to Kallie for help. Her father, the king, has arranged for her hand in marriage to an older noble of a foreign land, with a penchant for violence and other rumored harsh proclivities. She is hoping that Kallie will come save her and they’ll figure out what to do from there. She may not be prepared for what will happen next...

Name: Kerrigan Dayne

An imposing man for the time Kerrigan earned his sea legs at the ripe old age of twelve during passage from Great Britain to Senegal. The ship was hijacked by several pirates posing as crewmen. His father being a Lord offered ransom for he and his son once they made port, the pirates took the ransom once delivered, then put his father and mother to the blade before him. Being young and a bit gangly at that age the bearded captain that ordered the deaths of his family say the potential in the lad, and sent him to work in the stock yards, where death, and cruelty were abound, but also where his strength was refined. Always vowing he would kill the man, that took his family, and left him in this hell.
After two years at fourteen summers, that same captain came to take Kerrigan aboard as a crewman, life was hard on the ship known as Evening Tide, but he quickly learned the ropes, and rose in rank, at seventeen, only the first mate, bosun, and the captain, held any real rank over him as many of the crew were young as well. the captain's neglect of tactics lead to the death of a great many older crewmen, being so young and having the respect of his peers the young crewmen quickly took to him. Just shy of his 19th year, while returning from a more successful haul at sea, Kerrigan was in the crows nest and noticed a Corsair in pursuit, he looked down to the captain, and he saw his moment for revenge.
Refusing to call out the corsair he climb down the nest, and gathered the young crew that looked to him, setting the plan , they waited until the corsair was in range , at which the crew sprang into action taking the bosun down , and the first mate in quick succession, Kerrigan takes the captain himself. The bosun and first mate are immediately put to death, however the captain, had a much more tortuous death, but that was to come after surviving the corsair attack, feigning the Tide was battered the corsair closed rapidly, getting it to follow him into the shallow of the port of Senegal, where the old 9 inch cannon battery's were put to use, as the corsair was obliterated not knowing the Senegal had become a pirate haven.
After making port He brought the captain before a cauldron of boiling pitch. Tying him to a cross beam, Kerrigan's new first mate, and bosun, dunked his head into the pitch and held him there until he ceased to move. After the captains death, what was left of his head was struck from his body and boiled down to just bare white bone. His skull was then placed at the prow of his ship, as became the norm as a warning to all that would cross his path.
After making repairs he rechristened the ship The Crimson Gale. The old charcoal sails tossed to the wayside, as bold crimson sails stood out against the stark blue on the Atlantic. His reputation grew over the years, as did his crew, taking on 4 more ships under his leadership, either by loyalty or fear few if any dared cross with him. Taking a great many rare items during his hauls, his wealth grew. Sailing all the way from the Gold Coast, across to the West Indies. Back to Senegal, even harassing ships of the British Royal Navy, he had no fear. Now after 15 years of piracy he seeks a prize more valuable then any gem, piece of fine silk, or rare expensive metal......... this story begins now.
