Straight peppermint oil on cotton balls. Squirrels hate peppermint. Lay it out all over your attic and near soffit vents.

They also don't like those high pitched sounds like the ones that scare off mice.

I would worry that is was a raccoon nesting, if that is the case call someone to remove it.
