I mowed the lawn, fed the mosquitoes, swatted away the love bugs in the throes of ecstasy. I'm sneezing my head off from the pollen of the plants in my yard.

Ah yes, Spring has arrived.

It was summer here yesterday, now its back to spring.

No pollen in the desert.

Yesterday already made me dread July and August. Imagine the sunny part of “Pitch black”, plus smog so thick it gets caught in your teeth and all over the sweat on you skin, thats the summer you get here. No humidity though.

I have at least 3 of my rose bushes all with full blooms on them ... ah, soon I'll have enough to put in the house.

I'm so jealous of all y'all that have spring-like weather already! It's still chilly here (low tonight of 27F)..... a southern girl should NEVER live in a place that routinely sees snow 6 months out of the year!

I agree...it should always be sundresses, floppy hats, and sweet tea...although spring does signal the start of unbearable heat and humidity!

It looks like most of the snow is melted, but the ice isn't off the lake yet...... Maybe next month.

We're wildly fluctuating between winter and spring here. One day it was literally 80 degrees outside, and I had to take three claritin to make it through the day. Two days later it haled so hard that the ground was WHITE, and it was about 40 degrees outside.

Oregon must be a Pisces. She can NEVER make up her mind. LOL

Although I will say that watching the sweeps week weathermen go insane over the giant snowfall that turns out to be like, an inch, is funny.

We don't get snow, anyway. Two inches of snow is enough to stop up everything. Schools close down, etc. Of course it RARELY happens - we didn't get any snow this year. Well, none that stuck, at least. I was mostly remarking on the huge shifts in weather change around here.

Yeah, Oregon rocks.

Know what else? Mosquitoes are tiny and only near like lakes and stuff. No poisonous snakes (in Northern Oregon). Only two poisonous spider - the brown recluse and black widow. Ticks are ONLY in the woods, and even then it's pretty rare. The biggest spider (that will come indoors) is the daddy long legs. Their's also these kinda pretty garden spiders, but I've never seen them inside.

Tell me about it. The temperature change can be god awful. (And they wonder why people get sick...HMmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.) Seriously though, early last week it was pretty and like you said in the 80's. Then Friday comes and we have tornadoes everywhere, Saturday it is clear, and Sunday it starts snowing (not hard enough to stick to anything).

Weather person please hurry up and make up your mind about what temperature you want it to be.

Haha, yes, the joys of spring! It doesn't even matter that I'm on allergy medicine, because those darn pollen particles keep blowing into my eyes and drives me CRAZY! Arrrrgh! By the end of the day I've smeared my eyeliner hither and yon trying to clean out my eyes. Grrr.

But at least the arboretum on campus looks lovely!!!

Spring arrived a couple of weeks ago...Or so my allergies told me! I DO love Spring...I just hate the sneezing and watery eyes that goes along with it. Claritin to the rescue!

Gawd, I was just browsing this thread yesterday and thinking, p'shaw, spring is wonderful! Why be a negative nellie.

And then I picked up kidlet. He is coughing and sneezing. Argh! I wouldn't care, except that I think the coughing interrupts his sleep, but then meds for toddlers are tricky. Some don't work and aren't recommended - but he's a bear if he doesn't sleep properly. Oy vey. I'm such a worrier.

We had 8-12 inches of snow (hard to gauge depth when it blows into thigh-high drifts) and a power outage this past weekend. Yesterday it was 75 out, and I saw the year's first dandelions. We don't count those as weeds here, since getting anything at all to grow is a miracle.

I have to admit, I've become a little jaded living down here. We only have two real seasons spring and "when did Satan take over?" I suppose I shouldn't complain we'll be roasting soon enough. I have Hibiscus that bloom year round (I know, I feel the love. ), but I do miss the Azaleas and Magnolias (especially Japanese Magnolias) blooming to signal the change of season. We've just ended our last cold snap of the year. Well it's almost ended...I'm wrapped up in a blanket as I type this.

I usually equate the beginning of Spring when the first flies start appearing - like 2 weeks ago. When those lil boogers come out to play then I know warm weather can't be far behind.

Thank you, God! We made it through another winter. It is THE most beautiful spring morning here. I can smell the grass, nasty carpenter bees are looking for wood to bore into, and there is the faint aroma of salt coming in off the ocean. Yes, spring has returned to us and we can now turn our faces into it and the glorious warmth of the sun. Let us all enjoy!

I love spring. It's my favorite time of year. A time of rebirth and rejuvenation. After a long bought of cold and no sun, spring is a welcome site...and so are all the flowers that come with it. The first flowers to make an entrance at my house are the crocus...if the bunnies don't get to them first.
