Spring fever

It is supposed to be 50 degrees here today! I'm getting out of the office for lunch today, no doubt about it. Winter is to return on the weekend, so spring fever is TODAY!

It's rainy, but going to be around 50 today too. The Canadian Geese are flying North over the house, and at night you can hear all the frogs a' croaking.
Winter is dead here by the Puget Sound, long live a warm Spring!

It's still way too early for flower blooms here, we'll still be in the deep freeze for a few weeks after this taste of spring. But I always think of winter as being on its way out once we get to February. By the time we are in March, my head thinks "spring" even if there is still cold and snow out there. I'm an eternal optimist when it comes to seasons.

the snow is melting~its almost like a crisp spring day outside.

its funny~i managed to go a few days in heavy snowfalls without getting messed up~so of course i take a dive into foot deep slush when i least expect it.

i hate slipping in public.

Down here in the south it's raining today - but suppose to reach close to 70. Sunny and 70s all weekend though - it is spring here. Warm enough to camp this weekend - and canoe next (I hope!)

I know Cheyenne! I went out without a coat for the first time since October! Isn't Spring the best when you've been waiting so long?

The days are getting longer again and the nature of the light is changing when the sun shines. I love this time of the year. So much promise implied in those first relatively balmy days. Enjoy your sunshine Cheyenne!.

A sunny day in the 40's like today is a pleasant reminder of what's coming in another month but tomorrow will be back to the twenties.

That is still an improvement compared to last weeks very subzero temperatures.

Despite my location I don't mean to complain. This is a mystical time of year for me. I love the greys of the landscape and the awe of the frozen rivers. There will be some big ice jams this year.

It's been right up at 50 degrees here in greater Boston. That snow pack is melting in a hurry. Huge puddles on the sides of roads though. Not a good day to be wandering sidewalks - lots of people getting splashed.

It was nice to be able to wear a light-weight coat today though.

I am loving it, we have the same nice weather here right now. It's nice and warm, the snow is practically all melted, and I could be content to let it stay this way for good.


However, we're supposed to get snow tomorrow night. Blec!

We just got over the major ice storm of the century....and they're forecasting rain, rain, and more rain for us this weekend. Flooding is imminent....yep, it seems like spring is here.

I love sun! I did get outside for lunch todaywearing a spring coat. Not quite warm enough to go without a coat completely, but still beautiful.
