can you make it adjustable length? Because it all depends on who you are spreading, and which parts...

As a short person that would be too long for me to be able to use, so adjustable is a good idea.
As Stella said, depends what you want to spread or what result you want.
Have seen iron spreaders just a few inches long, used to make someone take very small steps when they walk. They looked effective as the concentration they took meant the pyl never forgot for an instant who was in control.
