Is there a word for that? You knows those streamers you throw at New Year's and they're all twisty, like a corkscrew. Neither confetti nor streamers conveys the right image for me.

Well there are party poppers and pull-pops which shoot out strings when you use them. But I think the word you are looking for is Streamers. There are two types, the small kind that is almost like the strings for ballons and then the 2 inch wide crepe paper variety.
