Can you please explain the rules of your rating system? I think I may be misusing it!!!

Very simple:
Simple ratings go from 1-5, 1 being lowest, 5 being the highest
Plus/Minus points must be accompanyied with reasons, traditionally these were Insightful, Informative, Funny, Redundant, Troll, offtopic, underrated, overrated, however have been pretty much expanded to hold complete sentances even.
No thread/post can have a simple rating and plus/minus points. I've talled up reasons for giving a rating before, but the pluses and minuses lead to a total which was what actually went to the system.
Rarely you'll see a 0 or a negative rating for a thread. Only the worst or most disappointing threads will get them (see p_p_man's thread about Spiderman for the most recent 0)
