spieth tin cups the 12th

This has something to do with whacking little hard balls, right?

He can still climb back in. However, he tanked these last two holes yesterday. Better drive on 17 then yesterday at least.

He backs off on his shots more than anyone I've ever seen... except for Sergio in the early 2000's.... those were the yips.

Painful to watch. Up 5 and things looked boring; and then the crash occurred.

Watching him on 12 and Ernie 6 putt on day one almost makes me think they are mortal and feel better about my game.

They I realize that over a 4 day period I would have probably been close to 45 over.......

You really think you could shoot four consecutive 83s at Augusta?

Hmm... That may be see wishful thinking. While it is my handicap I don't play a lot of 7.4K yard, slope 134 courses with 20 mile an hour winds. 60 over may be realistic.

Still a lot of people that remember Normans collapse. This wasn't of that magnitude but it was close enough to be really really painful to watch.
Still just a kid though, he'll get over it but he'll never forget it and that will just make him get better.
Anyone who leads at the Masters at any time during the tournament is worthy of my golf respect. It's not an easy thing to do even for a pro. To be leading on Sunday? Even when you lose that's a win.

Pro courses are obscenely tough for an amateur. I wouldn't even try to guess what my final might be. I like to think I could shoot 90 per round but I bet I can't. Even the 3's are nasty.

OMG golf on a porn site. How exciting. Now can we have a thread on chess or stamp collecting?;)

I know, I didnt' have to click on it but I can't help myself there could be tits here.

You know, as in her cups runnith all over.:)

My favorite course ever is Tobacco Road in NC. Its slope rating is like 145 and if not the hardest course in America I bet it is top ten. Its Augusta with fun house mirrors. Blind shots, drastic elevation changes, 4 tier greens. Just playing it once leaves you physically exhausted. My best round was a 88...my worst in triple digits.

I bet there's a chess thread buried in here somewhere. Almost has to be.
Stamp collecting I'm not so sure but wouldn't be surprised. Both are exciting to those who do them.

Yes we all have different likes and that's good.
At least stamp collecting involves licking.

I'll bet some of you know this city. We once camped at an RV park in the "golf capitol of the world" in NC.
It was funny seeing the expensive motorcoaches and long limos bringing golfers in and out of a campground.

Lots of nasty courses out there. Your average golfer would leave Pebble Beach crying like a baby and probably throw all their clubs trying to get off of 17 at the TPC at Sawgrass. Don't look so bad on tv but real life is a killer.
Augusta looks like just a tough course on tv but I'd bet playing it is a disaster for most.
Golf Digest has Tobacco Road listed fairly low but I would imagine that's subjective. Their writers are usually pretty good golfers.
What's that one in New York they played the Open at a few years ago? Supposed to be insanely tough for a public course. They even have warning signs and stuff.

As for the OP, go play that hole and we'll see how well you do. We'll give you a few tries and then you have to do it with several thousand people watching live and millions on tv and your paycheck on the line.

I don't like to condemn pro athletes too much for choking like that. It's harder than we can imagine when so much is involved. Like getting pissed at a kicker for missing a 55 yard FG in the last second of the Super Bowl. You do it first and then you can talk shit.

Bethpage Black?

The Els thing I've literally never seen from a professional, not even John Daly.

The fact that he's already won softens the blow, I'm sure. What made Norman's failure haunting is that he never did win the Masters, or any major in the U.S.

I added this to post #17. Most likely not many went back to read it.
This just shows even though I'm not into golf I can comment on it.
Still I don't know a wood from a woody!
