Speed controller to use with Magic Wand

Has anyone used a rheostat such as a router speed controller to plug a Magic Wand into to drastically reduce the vibration speed of a Magic Wand in order to use for extreme teasing/torment and not allow your sub to achieve an orgasm.
We have as shown below that I recently dug out of storage and there's very little (if any) reduction in vibration speed; it's been awhile since we used and I 'thought' it was able to drastically slow vibrations down to a very low 'hum' but not happening unless this speed controller we have is broken - and of course I may not be remembering correctly that at one time it was able to slow down AND that speed controllers don't generally work well on A/C motors (at least for some) - NOTE: Plan on using this with an older Magic Wand so if there's any damage from 'ramping' down we're not concerned.

Thoughts on if below 'should' be able to slow down the wand a LOT?

Good question; the wand is to be used on me with a hummingbird attachment - my Goddess keeps me locked in a chastity cage and orgasm free. Intent is to use for teasing; at full power there's a fear of going over the edge and having a real-orgasm.

No idea if it will work but as for the very little, if any reduction in vibration and your thought that it might be broken, there seems to be a built in fuse that might be worth checking up on.
