Spacing question

Sheesh...

I started out with just the plain * * * *. Then I switched to ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ because it looked nicer. I would center both.

Then I would place the initials of the title in there ~~~~ WO-FA ~~~~.

Of course I bold them and center them.

But of course, all that white space disappears when someone is using the Lit App.

I tried centering a few asterisks or underscores with the 'center' tag, but it resulted in the rest of the page appearing in a smaller font. Anyone else had that problem?

Now I just do about 10 spaces then 10 underscores, which looks OK and functional.

No and I use the center tag a lot. You do have to leave out the carriage return after that line though as the the lit code changes the <center> tag to a <p align = 'center'> tag which puts a line feed after it automatically.

The font changed on what was shown in the Literotica file? That's strange. I've never seen a change in the font size in the file. Also, I don't center the section marker (* * * *). The format here is everything flush left. There's no reason to beg something getting screwed by centering it. It looks fine on the left margin. The title is on the left margin; it's not centered.

I never thought about the formatting, good to know about needing pbysical paragraph breaks. I ran in to the same issue with ffnet and had to figure out how to fix it, as it was ruining the way my story was written. I don't see what's bad about permiting us a double space. I'll need remember this. I was also wondering why the Danny Phantom fict I was reading had "DP DP DP..." like a scene change, because seperate paragraghs are a superfluous thing for a literary site. Lit as archaic as it is oughta know better, with all the other writing regulations one must adhere to.

Using only an extra line return is confusing. The reader (and an editor) can't be sure if this is a purposeful break or just a mistaken double click. So, the only result it gives is a break in the flow of the read and a question raised in the reader's mind. It's a moot issue here, I think, because I'm pretty sure Literotica's system will just erase it, leaving just one extra line return.

Actually, it the when it is presented as HTML that any extra spaces or line feeds are eliminated. HTML does that automatically.
