Yep.. diabetes is when either your body doesnt make enough insulin or doesnt recognize the insulin your pancreas creates which causes abnormal amounts of glucose to remain in the blood stream... it can either be juvenile onset or adult onset.. and especially adult onset is more dietary than genetics. If you take in more sugar/carbs than your insulin production can handle.. then.. you can become diabetic..

Diabetes, while genetically linked, doesn't depend on just genetics. One may be genetically predisposed to develop it (like I am and did) but ANYONE can develop it if they abuse their body bad enough.
