This thread is for Southerners only (states formerly in the Confederacy--and no West Virginia and south florida don't count). I'd love to build a thread where us Southern folk can dialogue and discuss common ideas and thoughts.

We can talk about our beautiful Southern Belles--Our beautiful countryside--our football--our sweet way of life--our Southern gentlemen--our sexual appetites--our southern fantasies--our desires to drink good beer and bar BQ--and anything else Southern.

I absolutely melt when I hear one of our luscious Southern girls talk. They are amazing.

Also, I'm attaching a cute Southern pic Feel free to do the same.

I am also attaching a poll so we can all see the southern states we are from.

Can I get a Hell yes, sister? I'm from Matairie, you?

I'm from Baton Rouge but living south of Lafayette right now. I have soo many memories from Metairie. I went to NOLA last week. It was strange, first time I've been down there to go out in 18 months I think. Went to a show at HOB and had dinner at K Pauls. Yay!!

I'm headed home next week. I live in Miss right now and i haven't been home since August.

I love K-Pauls. I am going to Razoo's too. Wooohooo.

I'm going again first week of January for my birthday. Not sure as of yet what we will do, but something.

I've been to other parts of the country and I still prefer home. I am sure it would drive me insane to live anywhere else.

From the age of 17-19 I was at Zeppelins in Metairie a good 3-4 nights a week. That was too much fun.

I used to pretty much live in Zeppelin's back when I was 16 - 19. Fat city was my home. I'm 32 now. Actually haven't been there in years now.

Seems as though you have left a few states out of your poll, or is Kentucky no longer considered southern?

Well, Kentucky definitely wasn't part of the confederacy; however, having been to Kentucky many times, there are a few parts I consider southern, especially over by Murray St.

Most of KY is country, but not necessarily southern. If you consider yourself southern, please join in though.

Yeah, unfortunately we were kind of the France of the Civil War. Didn't take sides till we figured who was gonna win. Believe me though, we may be country, but tell someone here in western KY that he aitn southern, and you'll probable finish the conversation short a few teeth!

I'm going to the Sugar Bowl. :nana:

Eh figured someone here might appreciate that. I'm excited now. I haven't been to a game in a few years. YAY!! :D

Meeeeee tooooooooooo. I'm also going to the Saints - Panthers game. I'm so looking forward to it. I miss home.

I must admit though that I'm usually a tiger hater, but I hate Notre Dame more. LOL.

I'm sorry to hear that. No hope at all?

You can always come to New Orleans. I always tell my friends that the best time to go to New Orleans is New Years, not Mardi Gras. It's just more fun. I'm headed home to NO in a week. WOOOOHOOOO.

Not even a party to edge the suckyness?

To all other southerners, sigh on in. Let's get our Southern asses to know each other.

I think the south is easily the best place on earth, but I must agree that our women make it better than great. Our ladies are special.

Wow, this statement is so true. New Orleans for Mardi Gras is insane. I've managed to always have fun but it's usually disgusting, crowded, vendors charging arms and legs for things. Seriously New Years is much better. I'll be staying home most likely alone for New Years this year. Oh well, shit happens.

I can't help it, I love the Tigers. It's actually the only football I have an interest in. Guess it's from growing up in Baton Rouge. Dunno. But I'm stoked, should definitely be a blast, and the company won't be so bad either.
