I was wondering if there are many writers in the Southern/Central/Whatever - California area who would be interested in getting together at a coffe shop or restaurant for a very informal gathering about once a month or so. I think it would be a good opportunity to meet, chat, and exchange ideas on our craft in an informal setting.
If anyone is interested let me know.

i'll be right over!!!!

oh wait, you said Southern California, not Southern Hemisphere. dang.

I don't think New Zealand has regular bus service to LA. In fact, I don't think the bus service to Sydny Australia is even all that reliable. :p

hey quit pickin on me!!! i can dream can't i? ;)

just as well dreams are free, otherwise i'd need a really good job to pay for my thoughts...

rofl

besides, i always wanted to go to California, and Canada, and Switzerland, and Greece... *sigh* oooooh wellllllll

i am impressed Weird Harold, not many people have a clue where Godzone is ;)

Wes99 i wish you all the luck in the world dear. These authors on Lit tend to hold back a lot on the 'taking chances' area of life... Unlike the Brits who tend to have netfriend meetups every month... ;)

be open, be friendly and be safe :)

Sweetone its in your profile silly heheh.

Now stop doddling and get breakfast ready and don't forget the lunches today.:)

hey dearest, i only forgot the lunches once this week... :p

and that was because i was in the middle of romance and larceny, so it was hardly my fault you know ;)

okay okay okay i'm going!
rofl
;)

Hey Wildsweetone, thanks for the reply. California, Canada, Switzerland, and Greece? Once you have been to California...the other three pale in comparison! :)

Really Wes? Tell me dear, what on earth has California got that would cause my other three choices to pale?

btw, those were just the first four that rolled off the tip of my tongue... the world is our oyster :)

now Leslie, don't be tempted to discuss oysters, Wes wants friends! ;)

I don't see the draw in California?

Part wants to fall into the pacific, and the rest is full of people obsessed with silicon. And it isn't just for computers hehe.

the two are possibly related...? how else can the country be kept from sinking into oblivion?

;)

there are stronger forces than ours at work here methinks...

Greece pales in comparison?

I highly doubt it! Coming from someone who has lived in the cradle of civilization for the past 25 years and who has traveled extensively, you can be sure that you'll find the most exotic long sandy beaches, lush craggy mountains, gorges brimming with verdant fern, barren cliffs of pumice stone, gem-like isles that sparkle in the sunlight, long-forgotten villages nestled in clusters of plane trees, columns of antiquity sprouting on every corner, a bustling metropolis with an unforgettable nightlife and people who are warm, loud and still worship the goddess Aphrodite. All this tucked together in a compact country where it takes one day to drive or sail from one end to the other.

Callia

gee Callia, thanks for helping me curb my travelbug... not

i'll be right over (i wish)and by the way, my mobile phone is a really old one without electronic games, can i still bring it? ;)

does it count that where i live, one can drive from the east coast to the west coast in, hmmm about 20 minutes?
;)

*sigh* i am such a pushover for land, sea, sand, mountains, trees, rocks....

You're welcome any time, wildsweetone! Think Olympics 2004 maybe. I think you might need to ditch that mobile phone though! The Greeks are obsessed with having the latest model and I'm almost too embarrassed to show my two-year-old one in public (well, not really. Couldn't really give a shit what other people think).

Twenty minutes you say for New Zealand? That's how long it takes me to drive my bike downtown to work!

?????

Last I recall our women's hockey team kicked butt at the olympics?
So too our guys?

Well it was the Olympics at any rate, what a farce, sad that the only people that really lost out this last Olympics, were the atheletes.

Yeah, the modernday Olympics are a far cry from the spirit of healthy competition we had in antiquity. Everything is so commercial now.
