I am from Bristol, its a vibrant place i love my town. A little shame we don't have a beach it would be a perfect package, but only less than 80 miles drive there are plenty to choose from.

Just north of you in Gloster...
I love being in the SW...
An hour from airports, 2 hours will get ypu to some great beaches...
5 mins gets me into hills and some great country. 30 to 40 mins into the deepest darkest FOD...

North Devon coast and south Wales are full of little places to enjoy...
