Poets, I was just minding my own business keeping my opinions to myself (as is my nature) when I read a post by Savage Kitten in the #1 thread. Well you know me I have to be pushed and urged to say something on the board (being shy and all.)

Back to topic, after my rant I thought why not. We already have the audible grace of some of our poets here. Lets make it a point to call in or send a file for audio submission. February should be audio submission month. Not wanting to be bossy I would like to make some recommendations:

Come on now it’s not hard! You can email it in, or even call a toll free number and do it by phone. I am counting on peer pressure here. Who do you want to hear most, and what poem?

Good idea, *insert big butt* but I no longer do audio. Sexuagronomy is it. And it only came about because of that much verbiaged Survivor contest. Otherwise that wouldn't have made it into audio.

I only did audio because I bitched about all the 1-900-I-Think-I'm-Sexy-Listen-To-Me-Moan bullshit (IMO) that comprised the audio selection. Only Hecate and James Cody had anything worth listening to. I was told, in so many words, put up or shut up. So, being the country girl that I am, I had to put up. To make a really short story even longer, Laurel got the fabulous 1-800 number and now there is a nice selection to listen to of all sorts of things so I can yank my foot back out of my mouth and go on.

UP - its THRUST not Thurst. Which sounds like it could be a horrible mispelling of Thirst... *lol*

I've already got an audio submission you know... its called "Porn Music" and is at http://www.literotica.com/stories/showstory.php?id=31387

As far as hearing me "read" any of my poetry - not likely to happen. My voice is fairly distinctive and would be too much of a breach of privacy/security to share that much info here... I could be open to volunteers to read it for me... the reader and the poet do not necessarily need to be the same person... Hell, UP - maybe you want to read it? *grin*

A note about the audio poems.
I did submit a poem tonight called "Healing Power." via the toll free line.
The text version can be read here.
It was submitted twice since December with no result as an attachment to email. So this is a sort of test for me as well as wondering if the voicemail version would sound as good or bad as the .wav version.
"The Longness Of Liz" may come along some time.

My problem too, lovetoread. "Is your Daddy there?" when I answer the phone still makes me blush. But I will try and do an audio poem.
The toll free no will be in America only?

Hey, I tried to do a audio recording on my puter for like 4 hours! I STILL sound like a kid. Bah! Going on my first quarter century and sound like a middling teenager! Go figure.

So.... er... uhmm.... I don't think I'll do it. And if I end up changing my mind (cuz I hate not being able to fulfill an interesting challenge) I don't think I would put in "Dual Passions". It just doesn't SOUND as good when I speak it in order to record it as when I just read it in my mind. Mental voice is soooooo much nicer!

I may give it a whirl but not with Dual Passions. Could dig up some older stuff... <goes away thinking>

At a lose for sense... I'm merely one of the fallen... but what a spill i took.. They clipped my wings before I even got half way... and allowed me to crash into this reality... What a fucked up place...
