Sorry for my immodesty, but…..

Since I first posted ‘A Modern Love Story’ I have had much feedback, all except one very complimentary and most being embarrassingly fulsome in their praise.
However the one I got today really takes the biscuit.

It is bad form to quote verbatim but in essence the respondent said that it made him disturbed, angry and sad but nevertheless he couldn’t stop reading to the end. He went on to say that it was such an emotional roller coaster that he could not bring himself to re-read it. Finally he said that whether or not I considered his comments praise or criticism he had found it the most moving story he had read in many years.

I apologise for my immodesty but I do feel incredibly proud to have received such feedback.

No apologies required, modesty too often becomes a hang-up or a silly pose. You need not be so among friends and admirers.
