And so is one of George W. Bush's twins.

I agree, that post is beyond ignorant--approaching psychopahic.

To begin with, not all Repub's are homophobes and not all Dem's are homophiles.

Plus there are gay Repub's--the Log Cabin Repub's come to mind.

Hitler killed gay people too--pink triangles anyone?

and Nazi is short for National Socialist Party. No right-wingers there.

Why the hell can't we all just get along?

I wouldn't go so far as to equate all reps with the J ew-hating nazis.

But I cannot imagine voting Republican. It does strike me as a peculiarly stupid thing to do, for any gay, lesbian, single mother, married family with kids, person of color...

Sorry, Te99-- I think wolfman has a legitimate point. i don't think he's psychopathic because of this statement, anyway.

Point taken.

Possibly my indictment of him was a tad strong.

I was not specifically defending Repub's BTW. I have equal contempt for both parties. And all the groups you cited are not treated any more benevolently by either party--just long enough to wring votes from them.

IMHO most politicians are singularly lacking in compassion--beyond electioneering lip service.

Any freshman idealistic crusaders that are elected learn the game rules quickly or are stymied in passing any bill.

And that is why I'm a Libertarian. :D

It really doesn't matter what colour flag they're flying - they're still all politicians.

*I already know*
Doesn't matter who it is, it's still hot  But yeah, I'll be sure to pay the compliment where it's due :)

When you first told me about this seemingly opposing voting stance and lifestyle, i was confused, i didn't entirely get it.

That's got more to do with my lack of understanding of worldwide politics in general than a myopic viewpoint.

I completely get that not all those who are involved in election 'spin' and legislation etc for any party, comply with the ideals of the party on every level. As has been noted there are those who are key republicans who have relatives etc who are the opposite of what they think is correct or at least, they choose not to support them.

Do i make sense?

the point is, that this cannot be helped, Cheney can't help is daughter is a lesbian as much as the very political party seems to make some kind of 'point' about homosexuals and other groups, simply either by ignoring their existance or by denouncing them.

jesus its to early for this, i dont think i make sense...

Of course you can be gay and vote republican. What if most other issues except the gay thing is something you agree with? Only if you define your whole existance with your sexuality, it becomes an impossibility.

...

The full German title of the Nazis was something like: "The National Democratic Socialist Workers Party". The title was devised to be all things to all men and mean whatever its leaders wanted it to mean.

The modern US equivalent might be "The Republican Democrats for National Unity and Mom's Apple Pie, Texans can be Lone Stars if they want to be, and Californians can do whatever they want, but everyone who wants to be must be Christian, Party".

Og

Edited for PS. I forgot to add before the word "Party" - "and we'll invade anyone who obstructs the free flow of cheap oil,".

Or if other people define your whole existence with your sexuality. And it seems to me that you would only avoid that by staying deep in the closet to your political cohorts. Marry a woman, instead of the man that you love.

How many gay and out republicans do you know? I know a few lesbians, who say that they fly under the radar.

Left vs. right. We've come to let it mean Democrat vs Repub, but that is not the way I remember it being taught in Political Science in college.

The graph I normally think of for L vs. R has communism at the extreme left and fascism at the extreme right. The Nazi's were fascists. Extreme right.

Getting distracted by the use of the word "socialist" is a mistake. In a system such as that pursued by the Nazi's, words mean what you are told they mean.

I think it's naive of anyone not to see the point or worthiness of Wolfman1982 (edit to add his quote).

What chuck said. (despite the fact of invoking Godwin's Law) and obviously the poor grammar.
