Sony Under Fire for Racist Advertising

I still don't get how it's racist unless someone explains it to me in highly emotional and upset language.

It's a game system. Usually this sort of thing would be purple and green and they'd be ripping their arms off. This is tame for gamers.

I like the photo except it's too dark and I just saw the white person first. Someone had to explain there was another person in the shot :D

I'm not particularly steamed about this, just wanted to make that clear.

Okay, apparently the ad campaign is seen as racist because the Great White Playstation is grabbing the Black Playstation by the jaw in an aggressive/violent way.

I still don't see it. I see how someone else can see it, I just don't see it myself.

It might be playing with the idea, but it's still playing. I'd be no more offended if you swapped the pictures and had a pure black guy holding a pure white chick's (or man's) chin in his hand. Playing with the idea of domination and contrast, but I really don't read "racism."

Whether you're going to beat each other up or have sex, it's not so much about the color. At least not to me.

Shit, Aurora, look at your Av! You must HATE yellow people.

That white chick didn't look very portable to me.

*chokes on water* Jesus, she looks like she could bite the heads off of rats. And that hair...

Racism is everywhere, my numerical friend. Maybe not as intense as in America, but it exists.

Just as an addendum.. The other two ads show the white person and the black person at an equal footing, and then the black person dominant over the white person..

It's just an ad. People are too highly strung these days.

I wonder if there's some kind of drug we can give pregnant women to make their babies be born with thicker skin...

But we were invented by the British, and everyone knows the Brits invented racism. It's in their conquering little blood. Yes it is! Oh yes it is!!! ~snuggles Britain~

Such cute little children of the blonde beasts of prey. Really, America is the offspring of evil. True story. Not even kidding here.

~cuddles America behind the ears~

Ha! The Race Card is dealt too often these days, I agree. I hadn't seen the other ads. Thanks for enlightening me. ;)

(PS: I've got "What I Love" on my favorites list, by the way. :D )

Oh geez, aren't there more important things in the world to get upset about?

Was that for me or the ones who complained about the ad? I'm not upset.

Hmmm - there a lot of places in the world with huge stacks of dead bodies that disprove this statement. America isn't perfect but it has come an awfully long way, and in the general population there is a tremendous well of goodwill on the issue. It is just the opposite in many places around the world, where they still have not accepted that whoever their particular bogeyman "other" is is really human, even. Bosnia. Rwanda. Ceylon. Sudan. You get the picture.

Oh get off the horse, it's called a joke you shmucks. And considering the ad wasn't even racist, you're pushing your now unfocused desire to point a finger.

Lighten up. Really. Ugh, such a waste of my time.

Furthermore, lady, I think being my multiple races, and making sure everyone else knew about these multiple places in front of a crowd at the pier the other night (long story about going against stupid evangelists) qualifies my comment as not only being sarcastic, but my being knowledgable to know your pointless review of information. You aren't anyone's teacher.

Hmmm, it's kind of borderline, but I think it might have just morphed into venom-spitting. You better get out while you can.

More like assumption. True story. Honest, my last word. It's bedtime. Just don't cross me again, applebottom, and we won't argue anymore.
