Songs/pieces of music that bring tears to your eyes/take your breath away, etc.

Vedder could sing "I'm a Little Teapot" and I'd swoon or something. :D

Just Breathe by Eddie is a pretty good one too. Not too shabby at all.

Also, I'd just like to say that a C#m chord is a pretty sad chord and has been known to bring tears to the eyes of those in earshot.

The soundtrack to rocky. It's majestic and nothing else brings to sound the idea of man overcoming impossible odds to succeed.

Clocks by ColdPlay
Mr. Blue Sky ELO
Crushing Day...Joe Satriani

This Is How We Roll by Florida Georgia Line

If that song doesn't make you cry your heart out for the state of the music industry, then I don't have a clue what would make you cry.

Landslide duet Stevie Nicks and Sheryl Crow

This usually gets me with just Nicks singing, this nearly put me on the floor.

Time in a Bottle by Jim Croce

This one broke my heart for a good long time, because it was the song I danced to with my ex-husband at our wedding reception. *sigh* I would just like someone to feel that way about me for real.

Jeesh. I'm a pouty baby today! Not to mention I'm totally overdosing on the 70s music.

I did introduce my daughter to Fleetwood Mac's Tusk, and since she was fresh from bandcamp, was suitably impressed. :D

Pink Floyd Wish You Where Here. Played at my younger brothers funeral. Still get misty sometimes.

Not religious, in fact atheist, but a good rendition of Amazing Grace is awesome. Played on the pipes is the best.

I really have nothing to add; I just had to say that I felt every single word of this post.

*sigh*

Hi, Saucyminx... Nice to meet you. :rose:

And this is my total jam-out-take-my-breath-away song of late...

Led Zeppelin ~ Ten Years Gone

I overheard my daughter singing the guitar solo to this song earlier today. My heart melted and overflowed with joy. Proud mama right here. She even knows who Jimmy Page is. *swoons*

And very nice to meet you. :)

*nods* Every girl should know who Jimmy Page is, and be able to name at least 2 bands he was in.

Let me preface this next one by saying the first time I heard it I thought to myself, "My God, what a sappy piece of tripe, pretty tune, but another one of those manipulative tear jerkers." Then the other day, I heard my daughter singing it in her room--and I NEVER want to even think about her dying young, and I was a freakin basket case for about the next 10 min. (I'm thinking of looking into prozac in case anyone was going to suggest it. ;) )

If I Die Young by The Band Perry

Wow... I had to catch my breath. So strange that this would be your next post right after you and I "spoke" on this thread. I hate the song, for very good reason. For the same reason as you, only I'm living the nightmare, and have been for 5 years now. Are you carrying a message for me in your post of this song? I truly believe in those things. Life's synchronicities.

On that note, here's a song that makes me cry.

"Fly on, ride through, maybe one day I'll fly next to you"

Coldplay ~O

We do seem to have a vibe going on--and I'm so sorry for your loss.

Scarborough Fair/Canticle by Simon and Garfunkel My sister and I used to sing this one while she played the piano. I always thought it was just so pretty.

Country Roads
by John Denver

The next one just makes me happy. We crank the radio and sing at the top of our lungs.
