Yeh, we skipped school for some heavy drinking. Teachers covered my truancy and I abused that. Skate park, why not skate park. Sure, it's got association with a bit too young crowd, but some may be serious about that very thing.

I never was into the skate thing myself, but I vaguely recall guys who went real nerdy about that in college. But it was twenty years ago, and it was a whole new world just opened up for us. And here it may be different anyway. Here violinists sing in choir and hang out with heavy-metal-head programmer rockers for kiteboarding in freezing weather. And we do curse in four languages at once.

And yes, most of my truancy come in the senior year. I was just so done with school, I did out of program research assignments, but didn't participate in classwork and barely graduated, probably wouldn't not for my local kind-of-rockstar status. It did bite me back shortly after. As probably did (and still do) drinking then for weeks on end without really hitting hangover, and experiments like trying not to sleep for a week.
