Snoopy, I used to feel like that, a LOT (and I still do, when it comes to certain people), but then I thought: Ah, fuck it! And just threw myself in, responding to other people. Then they began responding back, etc, etc.

Now I'm just a bloody posting whore, but hey, if I get ignored, or not answered, or whatever, I just post elsewhere.

Admittedly, I'm a bit more outgoing than most, but join in and and say, "Fuck 'em!"

Part of the time, I'm too caught up in my own stuff to notice other things. I don't mean to be, but it does happen.
