Too many in our society have forgotten the art of imagination, just think of our amazing technology... we reach millions via the internet and communications yet we forget the simple things...poetry, books, visualisation... I try to incorporate this all into one concept...let us not forget but use modern technology to stimulate, emulate and learn from the past, do as the old fairy story tellers did and pass from generation to generation the knowledge of poetry, imagery and stories no matter the format...lest we forget and regress to what we once were...nothing...instead we must explore and endeavour to use all our senses...primal urges, sexual responses, senses, imagination, to continue to grow..and procreate not stagnate...

The lack of replies so far might seem to back up your post, but I feel compelled to point out that this site is dedicated to the written word, has poetry and stories, as well as outlets such as this forum for the perusal and writing of random (and not so random) thoughts.

How true. That's a very interesting concept to consider.

In the interests of scientific accuracy, i gotta point out that we were never "nothing".

Individually, before our conception, none of us existed, that is true. However, to paraphrase the late great Carl Sagen, we're all made of stardust; we've all been here in elemental form since the first moment of the first instant of the Big Bang so long ago.

What came before the Big Bang simply doesn't exist in our universe. Who can know what may come after our universe compresses inward toward a place smaller than the period below the question mark at the end of this sentence? Time might as well be endless when measured against the poor brief flicker of life marking us as a species in the almost-forever universe we inhabit.

But we were never "nothing", babes. Never will be.

The imagination is a gift, yet sadly, there are many who don't use it to the best of the abilities, but this, my friend, is a choice, as we all have choices and the right to make them. So i am not judging those who chose to spend their time doing less then they are capeable of, for who am i to judge? Let all that are, be, and all who are not, be more.
